One "gotcha" I've found so far - my stepper motors have six pins. They all came with a loom on one end... but only four wires coming out!

Just to clarify: you're trying to expose your printer to everybody on the Internet who knows the external port, right? AFAIK, there's no mechanism to lock the web interface down with a basic username or password, so if a port scanner picks up the open port on your IP address, that person will have full control your printer. I'm building my Ormerod 2 from scratch and it's mechanically finished, but I'm now faced with the rather daunting task of building my own wiring looms to complete the electronics without a crimping tool. What is this hole on the y-axis-cross-rib used for on Ormerod 2? - 10 years ago

It looks like it should capture an M3 nut, but I can't find what it is used for in the docs. Is it a remnant from the original Ormerod? Thanks! ~e

Online vendors selling all of the printed parts? - 10 years ago

A friend got me started with a few parts but he's way too busy to make more for me anytime soon. I have most of the other non-printed parts but the lack of printed things has stalled my build. I can't seem to find any vendors online who deal solely with Ormerod 2 parts (though i3 kits are everywhere!) - can any of you point me in the right direction? Anyone using RAMPS with the Ormerod? - 10 years ago

Is a RAMPS kit able to be used at all with the Ormerod MK2? Nothing against the Duet, it's just quite difficult to find and only available from a few sources. I'm wondering if an Arduino-based alternative is available. EDIT: Apologies, I found my answer here:

Hi Treito, I've had a plastics supplier come back with an offer to cut it from a 5mm sheet of HDPE, which seems to be an interesting choice. I'm only familiar with it as a printed material. Do you think it will stand up to printing as well as acrylic would? Love Dario's bamboo frame, I might try to find one!

Hello, Is there anything wrong with using 6mm plywood as an alternative material for the Y-axis ends, the X-axis plate, and the X-rib? I am located in New Zealand... 5mm acrylic seems to be impossible to come by. 6mm acrylic is also available, but it is quite expensive. Plywood, on the other hand, is very cheap! Alternatively, if anybody can recommend a local acrylic supplier, I'd really appreci
