Hello, So i have a few TMC262 drivers, the driver is not the normal shield that people use but a high powered breakout board. I see the firmware has support for this chipset but when i look at it i am a bit confused. Seems like it only uses dir, step, and chip select. i dont see where it calls for the sdo, sdi, and sck pins. The config also appears to not have any of the fancy options or fuby chrisg9 - Firmware - Marlin
Well good news i was an idiot. It was my wires after all. i switched them and now they work. Now sometime next week my new trinamic drivers will be in and they should have no problem driving these motors going to try to give them 38V Will update once i make more progress.by chrisg9 - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Well i think i came across the reason my DRV8825 drivers were not working with the larger motor but worked on my cnc controller The 1a,2a 1b,2b are different on the controllers. on my cnc machine it is 1a, 2a is a pair and 1b, 2b is another pair. But on ramps its 1a 1b and 2a 2b. I never connected it this way thinking i would fry the drivers. Going to test and update tonight.by chrisg9 - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
I dont have a picture right now but i did take the voltage and ground drive pins and moved them to the top side of the board so i could bypass the ramps board. So i connected my 30v 5a psu and tested and they still vibrate with the larger motor, again when i switched to the smaller motor it worked granted the nema 17 was not happy with 30v and sounded bad. How would i calculate the needed pulseby chrisg9 - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Hello, So i am retrofitting a statasys FDM 2000. I have it running stock but it is limited by the software and due to the complexity of the setup i am unable to use any of the existing drivers. So inside the machine there are 3 PK268-01A stepper motors. The machine has them wired as bipolar already so that saves me a bit of headache and has them paired off for each coil. My problem is the motorby chrisg9 - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Hello, Well after a few more setbacks its printing Now i just have to calibrate the x y offset for the support head and a bit on the Z and she will be good to go Now its on to learning the software better and then changing the nozzel from my 0.16 to 0.1 and try some highres printing.by chrisg9 - General
So after much fighting and a few burns later i have decided to say my original nozzels that i had and or heater tubes are bad. So i decided to model up and make all new ones. The new setup is kinda like i had thought of before with the watercooled heatbreaks and standard V6 nozzle and heater blocks. Here is a link to the pictures of what i have made. Well after a day in my shop i was able to produce 2 inlet buffers for my hotends. Should have the printer reassembled this weekend and will post some picture of the results. I have enough material to produce maybe 3 more buffers But know i am limited in my skill so they are close to the original but with a few changes.by chrisg9 - General
Well with the help i have gotten from haveblue my plan is to run it stock. without his information and guidance i would have had no chance and my only option would to have been to transplant a new brain into it. Right now i am sourcing the hightemp plastic to make a new set of inlet buffers for my printer. Once i get it printing i will post the results. I read online that someone broke the secby chrisg9 - General
Let me first say thank you have blue. I got the machine talking to my computer and able to move around. But I have yet to get it to print something. I keep getting what the manuals call backflow. I cleaned out both nozzles and loaded them and everything ran fine. Started a print and once the chamber heated and it tried to extruder the filament it came out super slow then stopped. I removed theby chrisg9 - General
What a world. I read your blog and sent you a mail a day or 2 ago. I would love to pick your brain. I know so little about this machine but have been reading all that i can find. So would it be your opinion that there is no precision to be gained from switching the electronics out and being able to use modern day software and the features they bring?by chrisg9 - General
Yea i noticed that the extruder setup is massive and much more complicated to the printers i have now. I was thinking of water cooling the system and even the motors in the build chamber and insulating them to try to stop from cooking the magnets and not having to worry about degrading magnets in the motors. The biggest draw of this beast of a machine is the motion system. If the drive cables arby chrisg9 - General
Hello, I recently got my hands on a functioning stratasys fdm 2000 printer. This printer has a ABS head and soluble support head. I find my self in a bit intimidated by the old control HW and SW. I have the software to run the machine but it just seems so convoluted and out dated. I was thinking of replacing the control electronics along with the motors. Do you think there is any benefit performby chrisg9 - General
well i have a rigol DS1102E but truth be told im still learning my way around it. I would be very appreciative of anyone willing to help me track down the problem. From what a few have said i should just throw the thing away and buy a new one as the time it might take would cost more than buying a new but i just feel its to wasteful. And it gives me a reason to get more experience on some of myby chrisg9 - Controllers
well the board looks fine and there was no smoke or pops when it lost connection. I know they can fry internally and dont always show signs. im thinking of ordering a new 90USB1286 if the old one wont retake a boot loader. Other than that the only other possible part would be the crystal stopping it from working right?by chrisg9 - Controllers
So my board died on me today at least i think, It was homing the z and half way it said lost connection and windows made the disconnected sound. after waiting a few seconds i power cycled the unit but no windows sound. So i checked all the cables even the resistance to make sure the connector did not flake out, all was fine. I tried several pcs, desktop running 7, desktop running xp, and lap topby chrisg9 - Controllers
