40w already gets hot enough to melt an aluminum heater block (450C+), what is the point of a 60w heater?by greenman100 - General
QuotereifsnyderbHere is a web page from a highly experienced 3d printer owner that compared e3d to J-Heads. The J-Head prints are on the right. Worth noting that comparison is against an E3Dv5, not an E3Dv6.by greenman100 - General
The Duet Wifi cannot handle 50 amps, it can't realistically handle more than 25 amps at *most*. Heated bed channel is rated at 15A, each hotend at around 4A, stepper motors drivers total about 2A. (remember that a stepper motor driver in our applications that is set to 2 amps draws considerably less than 2 amps). A 24v system would be better if attempting to maximize heated bed wattage.by greenman100 - Duet

It has nothing to do with the cable, that's just serial data and doesn't drive the display. What happens when you touch the flat ribbon cable connector on the backside of the display?by greenman100 - Duet
Some Duex4s had noisy analog inputs, perhaps yours is one of them? If you got it from Filastruder recently, it might be one of them. Details in the first paragraph here:by greenman100 - Duet

QuoteDragonFireShould E3D wish to use my research services, they are of course welcome to enquire what my fees are. Else they can do their own work on the matter. Why would E3D need your "research services"? Surely if they have licensed others to make their products (a claim that so far has no evidence), they would be aware they have done so?by greenman100 - General
QuoteDragonFire In that Sanjay and E3D have not specifically stated that they will cease unlawfully hounding suppliers of 3rd party accessories to the product, providing that such sales are specifically aimed at particular models of their products. The problem isn't selling third party accessories (as Sanjay said, some of E3D's own authorized distributors do exactly that!). The problem is when tby greenman100 - General
QuotePDBealTrying to decide if I need to buy a Duet 0.8.5 before they disappear either as a spare or for a future printer. I despise wireless for this type of application and will never order a Duet Wifi board. It sounds like it won't sway your opinion, but I have a Duet Wifi in an environment with ~15 other SSIDs and ~20 devices on my SSID. The Duet Wifi has been rock solid for me.by greenman100 - Duet

E3D releases their hotends with a -NC license so no, they're not allowing the clones. The biggest problem though is clone shops using the E3D name for their inferior goods, it hurts E3D's reputation for having quality products.by greenman100 - General
QuoteJamesK Um, leaving to one side the pop noise you were asking about, what is going on with your print? There are periods which look like normal print movements, and then periods where, for lack of better words, the print head goes bat shit crazy. What's that about? That's a time-lapse.by greenman100 - General
I can only speak to Duet, the limitation is supply-side - the UK manufacturer that T3P3 is working with can only crank them out so quickly.by greenman100 - General
Quotereifsnyderb This makes me wonder if the recent USPS increase in international shipping prices is to subsidize what USPS is paying to ship china crap for free... Yes. This is annoying. It costs me a minimum of 2.54 USD to send something other than a letter in the US. You can buy connectors out of China for 80 cents free shipping. They need to correct this imbalance. Tim here, from Filastruder. Quotethetazzbot Quotesenior_eduardo I don't see a 3/8" auger bit on a .4mm nozzle achieving retraction on par with a standard filament extruder. All the development in the world won't change that. Machining quality, for starters. Count on worse print quality and a lot more problems jamming with the 3D Cam knockoff. Support will be poor to nonexistent. Keep in mind also that they stole the design from E3D, right down to the color of the fan shrouds.
