Doug, I downloaded SAM-BA where do I find instructions on how to use it? When I run the .exe all I get is a flash of the command prompt.by joestefano - Duet
This is a DuetWiFi.. I'm missing something simple just cant figure out what it is. This is the first time a firmware update didn't work using DWS. The chip appears completely blank. When sending M115 or M552 with the PanelDue it reports nothing. I see the duet in the device mgr. (see attached above)by joestefano - Duet
I tried a different computer and I still cant connect. When I check properties of the port in the device manager it shows Escher3D working properly.by joestefano - Duet
David, I tried to upgrade to the latest beta 1.19xx but something went wrong and I lost V1.18.1. I connected by USB hit Erase and the Bossa port COM25 is connected. Using the Command Prompt with bossac.exe it returns an error " No devise found on COM25" What am I missing??? "bossac.exe --port=COM25 -e -v -w -b DuetWiFiFirmware-1.18.1.bin" I have tried a few different ports same result.. I updateby joestefano - Duet
David, do I still use bossac to upgrade the Panel Due firmware?by joestefano - Duet
Quotedc42 I suggest something like this in your start gcode: G10 P0 S R150 Repeat the G10 command for each tool you are using, and replace the R parameter by whatever standby temperature you want. I think most slicers recognise the first_layer_temperature parameter. David where would I put the G10 in my start code? Does it replace anything I have now? Starting script G1 Y268 G1 X250 F4000 ;by joestefano - Duet
Does G10 belong in the starting script? Can I write starting code in the config file if so do I need a starting script in the slicer? Do you explain anywhere the correlation between the slicer and the firmware?by joestefano - Duet
Yes I am. When the slicer switches extruders does the firmware override the starting script? I am happy with what happens when it switches from Ex1 to Ex2 and from Ex2 to Ex3. I cant figure out why no matter which Ex is chosen to print first it attempts to purge cold. G90 M83 M106 S0 G1 Y268 G1 X210 F4000 ;Move to purge bin. T2 M109 P2 S190 ; Wait for extruder current temp to reach G1by joestefano - Duet
How does the tfree, tpre & tpost interact with the starting code of my S3D slicer. I have 3 extruders on a multi stl print `and everything is working properly except when the 1st extruder moves to the purge bin and just before it turns on to heat it try's to extrude about a couple of mm. I looked through the g code and cant find where it is coming from. Doesn't matter which extruder prints firby joestefano - Duet
David, "The tfree1.g, tpre1.g and tpost1.g files would be similar, except that tpre1.g would use command M116 P1." is this statement correct in regards to the tpre1 including M116 P1? I thought that M116 P# belongs in the tpost1 fileby joestefano - Duet
O Lampe, That code was taken from S3D printer configuration. It was not generated by the Config Tool.by joestefano - Duet
Is the Configuration Tool capable of writing the Tfree, Tpre, & Tpost codes? they seem to be void of any M or G codes.by joestefano - Duet
M218 T1 X0.0 Y0.0 ; reset extruder offset T M218 T1 X-18.0 Y0.0 ; set extruder offset ; uncomment section below to use idle temperatures {IF NEWTOOL=0};M104 S170 T1 ; idle right extruder {IF NEWTOOL=0};M104 S T0 ; heat left extruder {IF NEWTOOL=1};M104 S170 T0 ; idle left extruder {IF NEWTOOL=1};M104 S T1 ; heat right extruder Does this type of code work for the Duet?by joestefano - Duet
I use Simplify3D, on the G-code tab it allows me to enter extruder offsets. Do I still need to enter G10 in the config too? How can I verify that the offsets are accurate in either situation? 3 extruders I use Ex2 as 0by joestefano - Duet
does the config.json file need to be in the sys folder?by joestefano - Duet
Auto tuning works great. Very fast!by joestefano - Duet
Can I set a static IP Address for my DuetWiFi.'s I have 3 of them. All I am using in config is M552 P0.0.0.0 S1 ; Enable network and acquire dynamic address via DHCP Do I need M540 for them all different of course. I know I can do this with my 0.8.5 board. Can I do this? M540 P0xBE:0xEF:0xDE:0xAD:0xFE:0xED ; MAC Address ;*** Adjust the IP address and gateway in the following 2 lines to suit yourby joestefano - Duet
I just sold this to a guy that thought it was a DuetWiFi and he wants to return it for a refund. I have been reluctant to take it back. If you are interested I will see what I can do. I also have another 0.8.5 I'll sell for $89.00 inc shipping USby joestefano - Duet
Trying to update FW from 1.17c to latest. I am getting a M997 S0 error message "iap4e.bin not found" I tried all 3 of my DuetWiFi'sby joestefano - Duet

I have my part fan connected to my DueX5 Fan3. How do I tell S3D that M106 is P3? Right now the S3D G code has M106 S255 after the first layer which is what I want. If I insert P3 into the code it runs fine. Any thoughts?by joestefano - Duet
I want to experiment with servos connected to my DuetWiFi and DueX5. Where can I get more info on connecting them and coding them to move? I currently have 2 servos connected to PWM 1 & 2 of the DueX5. I have 3 extruders the 3rd connected to H2. I have read about M307 and M280 but would like more insight.by joestefano - Duet
Just received my Duex5. The power connection on the face and back of the PCB is clearly marked + and -. On the back of the board the + is marked GND and the - is marked VIN? I guess I can verify GND with a meter.by joestefano - Duet
Yes, Shimmering. What type of shielding would you try?by joestefano - Duet
I have 2) Duetwifi's with 7" Panel Due connected. I notice that 1 of the displays seems visually noisy. Both are connected to identical PSU's. Any thoughtsby joestefano - Duet
Yes, I cleaned the glass with alcohol before painting it. Again in order to not see the PCB tracing wires I would have to paint the glass before applying the PCB and if I cant get the paint to stick then the PCB wont stick. I guess I will at least try to get it to work as a Z stop with a black piece of paper under the glass at the home location. Do I still need the Bed.g file if all I do is probby joestefano - Duet
I think that I would have to black out the glass somehow before the PCB is installed. I would settle for the probe just serving as a Z stop!by joestefano - Duet
I did paint the back of the glass and the PCB with high heat paint. It looked good until I touched it and realized the paint didn't stick to the glass.by joestefano - Duet
Dave, With this heat bed do I have a shot at getting your Z probe to work for at least 5 points. I have tried in the past but gave up. Very inconsistent results. The glass is 6mm thick. I hope the pictures will give you enough info. My hope is that the newest firmware is different.by joestefano - Duet
