Simplest solution would be similar to what I am doing. Ordered a chromed custom cut 8mm rod (or will tomorrow) from an eBay supplier from Canada. Should take about 6 days to come in. Total cost to me is around $40 US with shipping and two 8MM X 370MM rods. This should solve the problem. Also I understand the chromed rods are a bit more likely to last than the standard rods. Make sure it's not an out of round smooth rod, I've encountered one in my build (I ran all the bearings through the other rods and didn't have a problem). I'm in the process of picking up some chromed rods to see if that helps.by Viper97 - Prusa i3 and variants
Nice looking! Love to see a BOM on that!by Viper97 - General
I went here: Then I downloaded the Windows X and OSX binaries (it's all in one), unpacked it and started the interface. I'm new to this so, all I can say right now is it seems to work. I'm still assembling my Prusa I3 rework so I can't test everything. *Edit* This is a more direct path to the software: Hopefully this will help.by Viper97 - Printrun/Pronterface
There's a few on ebay, beds only running around $20 or so dollars. Just search for Prusa I3. It'll show up somewhere on the search page.by Viper97 - Prusa i3 and variants

Quoteleadinglights I do know that old greenhouse glass (3mm) worked splendidly for a while without even ABS juice but got poorer and poorer adhesion no matter how it was cleaned until it had been left on a shed roof for most of the summer. After long exposure to the sun (UV??) and rain it was good again. Things which had failed to clean and re-establish adhesion included acetone, Fairy washing upby Viper97 - General
Hadn't thought of that.... thanks!by Viper97 - General
I'll admit first off, I'm in the process of building from scratch a Prusa I3 rework and I have parts on order. I'm new (technically a virgin) to 3D printing but not computers or electronics. (Former electronics and calibration tech in the Navy and currently Systems Administrator.) Being mechanically minded and all I thought this would be a fun exercise. That and I heard I can earn a ton of caby Viper97 - General
