I changed to Marlin 2.0.x not bugfix. Did not make a difference for me. I can't believe I'm the only one who has run into this problem.by jonawald - Firmware - Marlin

I recently rebuilt my printer with a new Board, new stepper drivers and new Firmware. Now, when I go to do Delta calibration to set up printer for first time, calibration fails by crashing into X tower. Everything seems to go good to start off with. It does the center probe, then does probes around the edge of the bed and goes back to the middle for a probe. Its after this step where instead ofby jonawald - Firmware - Marlin
Sorry buddy, but I think you and me both goofed by buying from MKS. We won't find help here.by jonawald - Smoothie
Hi all. I know I have sinned by buying a board that is not well accepted here. I didn't know when I bought it. The retailer I bought it from marked it as an open source board that was well supported by the smoothie community. I didn't know better till after I bought and began using it. I tried to be a good boy and sort my problems out myself using documentation and support from MKS but one thinby jonawald - Smoothie
I got around this problem by changing back to the old mechanical endstops. It got the printer going. Sorry I couldn't help anybody work this issue out.by jonawald - Smoothie
Hi all. I'm migrating my printer from Ramps 1.4 to MKS 1.3. For some reason my optical endstops do not work with the smoothie board. They worked fine with ramps. The endstops are opto devices from an old photocopier. with a small board with resistors and an LED that I added. The LED is on when the light is not interrupted and off when it is interrupted. I have tried with the jumper on 5v and on 3by jonawald - Smoothie
Ok. I removed the config file from the sd card. Replaced it with a new firmware file and rebooted. Then I downloaded a new Config file and rebooted with that on the card. All is good now. SD card acts normally again and I get a response from M119 again.by jonawald - Smoothie
I'm upgrading to MKS 1.3 from ramps 1.4. When I put SD card in the slot, and power up the board, only one light comes on. The one closest to the SD card reader end. In this state I cannot communicate with the printer from ponterface and SD card does not mount in my MAC. I erased and reformatted the card to FAT 32 to try to solve this. It didn't work. With the SD card out the board boots and behby jonawald - Smoothie
Hello all. I'm trying to upgrade a 3D printer from ramps 1.4 to a MKS 1.3 board. I was chugging along with the setup until I got to the endstop configuration. I hit m119 to check endstop state. I got all 1s. I then tried various things to bring them low. but nothing happened. In the process something moved that I don't understand. When I send m119 now, I get nothing in return. Printer is now onby jonawald - Smoothie
I will take another good read of that page. See what I missed. Sorry if I did miss. Yap. It's there, I skipped right over all that when at the top of the page, I read "Go here if you have delta" not exactly as written but ya that. Sorry.by jonawald - Smoothie
I recently purchased a MKS 1.3 board and am working on switching over my large diy delta from ramps 1.4 to this new board. I built the printer myself and have been printing with it for about a year with the Ramps 1.4 was hoping for a quick upgrade. One thing that seems obvious to everybody else and very illusive to me is what to do with the config file. I know it's supposed to be on the sd cardby jonawald - Smoothie
Now it's gone really haywire. It somehow coupled the temp pins for the bed and the extruder. I switch on the extruder only and bed temperature climbs up with extruder temperature until everything is killed because "bed" exceeded temperature. I checked pins in configuration.h everything is as it should be.by jonawald - Repetier
Wasn't the driver I swapped with E2. I'll try the swapping the pins. Yap. That was the problem. When I mapped X to e2 everything was OK again. I guess I can use it like this till I get a new board. Anybody want an Arduino/Ramps pair? CHEAPby jonawald - Repetier
Just to add detail. The x axis does sometimes work. In fact, the last thing I did before I ran into the current balkiness was a G32. This worked perfectly though it took a long time because I had set the motions too slow. I left the printer for over an hour while it did the bed leveling routine. When I came back the effector was waiting aobut 30 mm above the last probe spot. Everything looked gooby jonawald - Repetier
This is a printer that has been printing for a while already. Not a completely new setup. Although I just put on a new effector and changed the endstops and endstop wiring. I cleaned up a lot of stuff just before this happened. All the changes I made are far away from any stepper motors so it can't be crosstalk. The printer has a 450mmX450mm print area and the endstops and new wiring are at the tby jonawald - Repetier
I am working with a homebuilt delta printer. Using ramps 1.4 on arduino mega for controls. Here's the problem. Sometimes the x axis decides that to move the carriage up it needs to go down. I am using Repetier as a host program. I go to the manual panel and hit up. Y & Z do the normal thing X goes down pushing the effecter way off to the side in a hurry. The crazy thing is, when I commandby jonawald - Repetier
I have been having a very similar occurrence. It happens right after homing my printer. Here is a sample of the error output. Thank you very much. That solves that question. Now would it be best to start a new thread with my encoder issue?by jonawald - RAMPS Electronics
I should probably add that so far, despite my saying the encoder stopped working after my short issue, I thing it might be caused by a configuration error. My other ramps/display combination that was not involved in this shows the same problem. Here is my config.h. Followed by my pins.h in case that helps out. /* This file is part of Repetier-Firmware. Hi all. I have been working on building my own 3D printer for a bit now but am getting frustrated with glitches along the way. One of the glitches I confirmed today is that there seems to be a pinout difference between my two display headers. To clarify I mean the piece that gets plugged into RAMPS with the 5x2 plugs for the display. I have two displays. One has a red PCB and Blue back light bigtby jonawald - RAMPS Electronics

Hi Everybody. Ok. I'm quite new to building 3D printers. In fact this is the first time for me. I'm a teacher building a printer so that my students can print some of the models we will be creating in the upcoming year. So far, I have the mechanics in place, I can move the carriage by hand and have everything wired up. I used Repitier configuration tool and downloaded the firmware. My boardby jonawald - Mechanics
Hi there. I am beginning a new delta build. After a lot of research and thinking, I designed my delta using Fusion360 and went ahead and bought all the components I need on Ebay.
