Thanks for that David, this is the first time I have tried a Duet board so going forward is a very sharp learning curve! Since I first posted I have had time to delve into the board further and the first thing I discovered was that it did have firmware flashed to it which turned out to be 2.03.3 and so decided to try and get the board up and running before attempting an upgrade. I used the filby catmandu - Duet
Hello I have been given a Duet2 WiFi V1.04 board amongst a few other things including about 5/6 sd cards, but of course there is a problem| The board came without a sd card in it and none of the cards that came with it hold reprap firmware of any sort I understand that the board is supplied pre flashed and if that is true then it seems that the firmware has been "erased". If this is the case is iby catmandu - Duet

Hello I have just finished building a delta printer running RRF wifi on a SKR 1.4Turbo board and now want to install a bed levelling probe but am not sure which is the best to use. The printer has a 300mm glasss bed. Recommendations would be very welcome.by catmandu - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Hello, This is my first try with RepRap firmware and have encountered a strange (to me) problem that I hope you can help with. Setup is Delta printer with SKR 1.4T and TMC2208 drivers DWC connected by BTT wifi module. On commissioning First problem? Although the printer homes correctly the following carriage movement is double the expected distance i.e, if I send them down 10mm they actually traby catmandu - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Hello, I've built another delta printer and decided to try RepRap firmware to run it, all went well and straight forward until I finished a print, at which point the filament retracted-but retracted all of the filament out of the bowden tube!! The setup is RepRap V 3.2.2 running on a SKR V1.4 turbo board with TMC2208 drivers, the firmware is the wifi version although that is not connected yet (sby catmandu - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Thanks for the input dust, I did not know that serial port -1 ignores baud rates, you live and learn. I am well aware that marlin runs fine on this controller, I have 4 printers of various designs all running on this controller, or they did until I changed the firmware on the delta from marlin to smoothie and now come to change it back to marlin and came up against the problem described in an eaby catmandu - Firmware - Marlin
Do you mean in marlin config, if so it is set to -1 but I cannot get marlin to connect to Pronterface or repetier at any baud rate So does this mean that I cannot use the board for anything but smoothie? or can the bootloader be overwritten to be able to load marlin , assuming that it is the smoothie bootloader that is stopping marlin from loading. I don't know if it is relevent, but the machineby catmandu - Firmware - Marlin
I have a delta which I have been trying to get running with the above board and TMC2100 drivers which has been partially successful, I still need to overcome a homing issue and so decided to switch back to marlin for a while. The firmware compiling and uploading seems to have gone successfully, i end up with the firmware.bin file on the card which changes to FIRMWARE.CUR when put in the board, buby catmandu - Firmware - Marlin
I could not remember what it was with RRF and so had another look at it. The problem was that, using the config file generator the Z height seems to be limited to 260mm and my printer has a height of 380mm so the tool would not advance past this setting until I reduced the size to 250, so I did not try any further. There also seems to be a branch of Klipper that supports rotary delta, but againby catmandu - Smoothie
Thanks for the comment DC42, apologies for the late reply, my computer decided to pack up along with a couple of other things all at once, I guess it must be down to the present situation! I have been on this project for some time now and , if I remember correctly the RepRap firmware is limited in its sizing (using a calibration tool similar to repetiers) and so was not suitable, but I need to reby catmandu - Smoothie
Hello, I have built a rotary delta printer and need to use smoothie firmware to run it. ( I believe it is only smoothie that has this firmware type) but have come up against a problem. The firmware loads fine and I can move the arms on all three axis as they should move, but when I attempt to home the printer it just cuts out and a box pops up to say it is an " illegal move" and to reset the prby catmandu - Smoothie
Hello I do not use Windows at all, and the only Microsoft software I use is Codium not VSCode. In case you have not come across it before Codium is an open source version of Code with all the temetery stripped out (but you can opt to send info to the maintainers if you wish) I use Linux (in different flavours) on all of my computers, I find Linux much faster and easier to use and much more reliby catmandu - Firmware - Marlin
I keep a copy of the firmware.cur file each time a change is made so that I can revert to a "working" file should anything be wrong. For this machine I have 10 firmware.old.cur files but the problem persists across all of them now and this is since the addition of the EEPROM to the system. My next move is to delete and reinstall the programs PlatformIO, Pronterface and Repetier to see if that makby catmandu - Firmware - Marlin
Hello- With this printer I seem to be solving one problem only to immediately find another (almost certainly because I do not fully understand the system) . i finally got everything sorted and carried out a few test prints ( 8 No, 30 x 30 x 10 boxes ) and satisfied myself that they were actually 30 x 30 x10, so far so good. Hello , What controls the speed of the extruder motor in merlin? How does the firmware tell if there is a geared or direct drive extruder? The extruder on my Delta is pushing out about 3 times the amount of filament than it should be .i.e If I ask for 100mm I get 300mm extruded, It is the same with Repetier and Pronterface. Thanks Dust, that was my thought also, and with a replacement board costing about £20, as you say- not worth the trouble, besides I have the SKR board and drivers so the change over is under way. Thanks for that Dust, This must be my lucky day! I just happen to have a SKR board and drivers on a shelf waiting for something to do and since posting, have found a supplier in Germany that can supply a replacement board if needed. Would you have any idea what could be causing the machine to just shut down completely and after a few seconds switch itself back on again? as I say I have tried priby catmandu - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hello, Do you know of anybody supplying replacement control boards and/or firmware for these machines? The Anet website appears to be dead. when I go to the site it opwns to the main pabe but I cannot log on and if I select another page (shop for instance) I get 404 message. The A2 has developed a fault that, to my mind can only be down to the board/firmware, it will print for about 45-50 minuteby catmandu - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hello, I'm just finishing building a large delta printer and came to wiring up the electronics when I came across this "problem". One of the tower steppers(all from the same manufacturer) is wired differently to the other two!! If you look at the 6 pin connector for the motor from the side showing the metal pins, pin 1 is wired, pin 2 is blank, pins 3 and 4 are wired, pin 5 blank and pin6 wired,by catmandu - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors

Thanks for your input, I will try that ASAP. One thing I forgot to mention in my original post was that when I did the config file I commented out the eeprom with the intention of getting the printer working right before saving any settings. hello. I am at a loss to know how to proceed with the following that came about after upgrading to 2.0.5.1. 1. No start signal detected- forcing start-- this comes up every time I connect the printer, as far as I can make out, this is because the port or baud rate is wrong but I have tried every combination of these without any change, despite this the printer does connect to the computer and I cby catmandu - Firmware - Marlin
Hello, I've run into another problem as title, I built the printer (self designed delta) installed Marlin firmware (2.0.2) onto a SKR V1.3 board and the printer ran, calibrated and I loaded a test block stl, I ran the test file but without filament, Every thing went OK but I then had to leave the project for about a week and a half. Hello, Apologies in advance for this post, I feel sure that this has been covered many times but I cannot find an answer. I have at last finished building my Delta, configured Marlin 2 to run it and got as far as getting everything working as it should. Hello. This is probably a very simple question, but given that this is my first attempt at design and build of a delta i would like to make sure that I am doing the right thing before damaging anything. I am using nema 17 4 wire motors that were controlled by an arduino mega. I have found the coil pairs which are the same on all 4 motors (X,Y,Z,E) the 2 on the left of the plug are a pair and theby catmandu - Controllers
