I would if i hadn't taken the machine apart already It worked before but the vendor that sold me the printed parts has sold me such shitty-printed parts... So I printed new X-ends and the new ones were printed so precisely that the spring would excape through the hole. Knew someone was going to ask why i didn't print it I'll design them and put them on thingiverse. Btw the cost for a nylon waby Ohmarinus - General
Even inbreken, want RAMPS is inmiddels verouderd.
MattMoses, you have made a great contribution there, it is exactly what I have in mind. I am currently working on my final assessments for this academic year, but after that I can write a post like that. The -MOST- important thing about the sticky would be that it has to remain editable by the person who opens the post (me?) indefinitely, so that I can keep on updating the opening post. Hi guys, just made my first upgrade part ever for my Reprap Air 2 It's a fan holder for on the Sanguino, as basic as possible! Let me know what you think. I study architecture, so this 'small thing designing' is all new to meby Ohmarinus - Look what I made!
I think at least the extruder needs that. To add to that, nema17's are way easy to get, you can get a 1.68 or 1.7 amp version, they have 2000grams/cm torque if I remember it well. Why don't you ask 'the guy' or ask it in the topic where this model is discussed? Heres the wiki: And I quote: QuoteNote: This image shows NEMA14 stepper motors rather than 17 but they don't work - not enough torquby Ohmarinus - General
Hi guys, I was having some trouble with this Prusa X-end: The springs that go onto the nuts that the threaded rod goes through kept either jamming the threaded rod and blocking my Z-axis which resulted in missed steps, or the spring would press itself through the opening on the bottom of the X-ends. I wanted to share my solution to this problem, I have found more people that had similar probleby Ohmarinus - General
Wel Marcos, I've seen the work you have already put into this, I would say you're reputable Anyway, like Jasper also points out, discoverability is good, and I think keeping things in good categories is also very important, you don't want your Mendelmax files end up with rostock tags, unless they share the same compatabilityby Ohmarinus - General

Why not run your heatbed through a relay/relais and use the Sanguino to turn the bed on/off and for the rest just pull the power from your PSU or a 2nd PSU if your current PSU doesn't support such a power draw? I do it like that and all from one PSU, my heatbed heats up so quick, and my hotend also gets onto core temp within 5 minutes. I think heating hotend to 227º and heatbed to 110º takes atby Ohmarinus - Sanguino(lolu)
WHAT about just a RepRap machine part repository, and not all those other design things? Sometimes it's really hard to find the parts that belong to certain machines and it's unclear for me what part is compatible with what machine. I now learned that my Reprap Air 2 has a lot of compatible parts with the Mendelmax, but when I look on thingiverse for a sanguino fan mount, I don't get what I wanby Ohmarinus - General
Speed settings in Slic3r are important, but also speed settings in your firmware. Btw, I sometimes have the same problem that it looks as if the hotend doesn't attach the filament to the wall, but otherwise my prints print out perfectly, and usually at the second layer it does adhere enough to bridge correctly.by Ohmarinus - General
Also, try seeing if your printing temp is correct, and try to use the misprinted fan duct to get the second one to print better?by Ohmarinus - General
Hey Mickman, I'm not against a General forum, but I would really like to see a better sticky system, stickies are important in all forums I have used before and I think this forum could really use a Newbie sub-forum with all kinds of stickied guides that contain compilations of solutions to problems, whether mechanical, electronically or design problems. Bringing some kind of structure in the foby Ohmarinus - General
Maybe we can ask the admins to check is the # of unique visitors has gone up since the 3D-printed gun discussion was brutalized by the media Good question! The Buccaneer, beautiful work! But.. Shipping on February 2014.. By then we will be so much further with 3D printing.. I'm not going to wait And I'm not going to pay 100 dollars for shipping. Kossel? Kind of expensive.. But good design cost good money. It's beautiful to see all these new concepts.by Ohmarinus - General
MattMoses, see my 2nd reply, this is exactly what I'm trying to tell. I think people may be used more to searching through forums instead of wiki's. So yeah, creating a subforum and calling it 'Newbie Subforum' or something will automagically work like a newbie-magnet and they can find what they need in there!by Ohmarinus - General

Haha, I had the exact same idea at home, in March I made a glue-gun 3D printed because I had one that got too hot and I have three others so I modded it to output a tiny stream of filament and I created a lot of stuff with it already. Actually, I think you should be able to make a hotend with it. But it depends on what kind of gun you have. Maybe it's possible to mod it into a filament-recyclingby Ohmarinus - Look what I made!
I myself started first searching in the wiki, but I notice a lot of 'new' people, or people that are interested, don't bother to search through the wiki and simply just start asking questions in here. So, thats indeed what motivated me to write this post, a -good- and up-to-date FAQ might help, a dedicated subforum for newbies might even be better, I wonder how others think of this. miso Wrby Ohmarinus - General

Hi all, I've been seeing a lot of people coming on here lately who start asking questions that have been asked a gazillion times before already. Would it be an idea to create a 'Newbie Questions' subforum? I notice most of these questions range from 'What is the cheapest' to 'Hi, I have no idea of machine, what I have to buy halp' Now, there is a few groups here, you have the people with absoluby Ohmarinus - General
My experience is that, in the right hands, a $800,- printer can print just as good as a Replicator X2. The Relicator X2 is very nice to work with, but you can also buy a much cheaper machine (for your application I think a printer with just one extruder should be already fine) like the Builder (http://3dprinter4u.nl/en/product/builder-3d-printer-rood/) or even the Makerbot.

Use the search, it's been here alot before, it's probably the teeth of your hobbed bolt that are cluttered with filament shavings. Be sure to keep the two idler screws with springs tightened so the teeth of the bolt don't slip and dig in. Also print at a high enough temperature, if you print on a too low temperature your hobbed bolt will push the filament in, but it won't liquify and therefor thby Ohmarinus - Printing
For me PID autotune has -never- worked. Tried it many times, and with the standard settings in Marlin the hotend heats up quickest and never loses temp. No idea why it doesn't work. I put in the values in the firmware correctly, but the hotend just underperforms compared to the standard... I hope you manage to get it working.by Ohmarinus - Firmware - mainstream and related support
