Is there an option to set the amount of retract? I turned this option off (because I was getting no filament on layer change after I started printing with my 0.4mm nozzle) and worked great on my prints.by Ohmarinus - Slic3r

I had the same problem with my Sanguino sometimes, but now that I have set Baudrate to 250000 in both firmware (Marlin v1) and Repetier Host, it works like never before. Happened only two times eversince and it was solved by turning off the PSU, taking out the USB cable, replugging it, restarting Repetier and turning the machine back on.by Ohmarinus - Printing

Why don't you try to print another object to see how the problem looks there? Like a solid cube with 0.25 infill? Maybe it's a retraction problem? Measure your filament, maybe it's thinner than 3mm. E-steps/mm calibrated?by Ohmarinus - General

It depends, I have found very cheap linear rods in my country, so I would first advice you to look for cheaper solid ones. Solid rods can be hardener and made into a perfect fit where pipes cannot be produced in the same way. The most important factors are both Hardness and Precision.by Ohmarinus - General

Ben echt benieuwd!!! De voorbby Ohmarinus - Dutch User Group - Archive
I think you're not looking correctly at your images. To me it seems the entire print isn't perfect, instead of starting to degrade during print. I think there is a different problem like calibration. Maybe retraction, maybe bad filament (variable width) or maybe wrong E-steps/mm. But given you have printed nicely before, maybe it's a different filament, a dirty extruder, or just a setting specifby Ohmarinus - Printing
Doesn't work. I have kapton tape on my bed. Oh, and I use the already sufficient adjustable endstop on the side of the machine. And, how will you ever be able to level your heatbed with the correct height? If you calibrate it well, the hotend doesn't touch your heatbed, but floats right above it You should be able to slide a piece of paper underneath it. Also, it's kind of making a simple thingby Ohmarinus - General

Just wanted to say: cute Rostock you got going on there I am almost ready to build my own. Currently owning a Reprap Air 2, but I like the simplicity of the Rostock. Do I see it correctly? Are you using only 6x smooth rod for structural integrity? Are those 6 rods the only thing that hold the machine up? Do you experience any wobble? My reprap air wobbles a LOT from left to right when printinby Ohmarinus - Delta Machines

lotw Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Looks like a Chinese copy of the QU-BD hotend Exactly, thats what I thought too. And the QU-BD extruder is better, and cheaper. I wouldn't buy the chinese one unless you have money to spend on experiments.by Ohmarinus - General
Did you calibrate steps/mm for all axes including E-steps? It can be that your Z-axes are making more than the ordered height. Other thing can be that your heatbed is flexing by the heat and thus lowers of heightens the printheight. Or as you say, maybe printing temp problems. But thats easy to adjust and test.by Ohmarinus - Printing

Thanks, cuttlefishbone looks very interesting! However, the ceramic fiber-fabric kind of looking stuff is easier to work with I think. And cleaner, but I will give it a try. Also, I have a roll of 100mm x 33m Kapton tape, so I was thinking of making 'packages' with aluminum foil that have air inside and then wrapping it in 2 layers of kapton, to make sure it cannot short anything out.
