Hey there!
I'm a Canadian enthusiast who's going to Florida next week! I'm wondering if anyone know of any local shop for me to get upgrades/replacementa for my reprap!
I own one replicator 2 and a Mix G1 reprap! and I have spent so much time on making my mix g1 so good that it prints if not better, at least as good as the replicator 2!!!
thanks for your help and info!

Hi jm44807,
Yes I followed the 3 pages its all well calibrated.
I actually followed sublime's and JazzyB's suggestion. Switched from black PLA to natural ABS.
I had to obviously adjust printing temperature and bed temperature, along with the extruder current but I have succesfully printed a new Z-coupler for my printer! I guess it was simply the PLA...
Thanks everyone for the assistance! this

Hi,
Sublime,
Thanks for the information! I guess I should have bought a different colour as my first printer. I only printed with big layers because that's how it prints it regardless of the settings I put on slicr.
Jazzy B,
The 4 parts weren't printed all in one plate at the same time. two were made at a time, to test the different extruding widths and speeds. The problem with dropping my

Alright here's an update.
i increased the extruding multiplier to 1.2, and the results should be clear on the attached image.
Unfortunately tbh there is no much change. At this point I've tried increasing the heat to 215 deg for swifter extrusion (extrudes pretty much at the same rate). I've also tried decreasing the overall moving speed infill speed, etc etc... nothing seems to change this pro

perfect... although I just downloaded kisslicer and it seems a bit uhm confuzzling... but i'm sure i'll pick it up in no time... I"m also downloading cura atm see if I like that one better... and will check on the tutorial you mentioined Sublime.
thanks for the assistance!
I will update as soon as I can with new configs!

hmmm I do get something similar when I finish my prints and take them out in the cold... I think its because I didn't heat the PLA enough for it to bind. but don't quote me on that... I'm still trying to debug my own bugs

Hi Sublime,
I did do a recalculation of my steps for e, unfortunately for the Mix G1 the steps aren't 700 x 30 (as a normal) but 140 x 30 which I normalized and recalculated the required steps and came up with 144.
The steps and speed in which filament extrudes is quite appropriate, it does not skip or over extrude. The problem is with the thickness of the extruded filament. once extruded it lo

this to me looks fine.... ok except for the fact that the filament's being heated too much... at least that's what it looks like... it looks like it did try to print on the right spot but it was too hot to stay in its spot.

Hi,
Thanks guys for your inputs, for issue # 1 I have not fixed that... I thought it would be trying to print too fast at a low temperature, which I modified as of right now, by reducing the printing speed and increasing the extruder temperature... (Thank god I live in an apt where utilities are included!).
Will let you guys know if that fixes issue # 1.
For issue # 2, It doesn't do it with

Ok, here's another issue I just encountered and I'm not too sure why this is happening...
I think it may involve one of the axis's not being properly stable/stabilized, but I have leveled all of them, and as you can see from the attached picture, its not a recurring issue, its more like a jump. Also, it doesn't seem to be recurring, but random.
I previously tried printing a cube, and it was sk

Or another idea:
how thick are your bed cables to the ramps?
Maybe its requiring too much amperage and your cables may be too thin to withstand a prolonged heating (high amperage)
Just some thoughts because I had a similar problem with the heating bed before and the extruder as well...
try using thicker cables. I use 18 gauge stranded, but you may use a bit thinner if it works for you. I ju

Hi everyone,
I have been having a few problems with my new printer.
I followed the steps to configure my extruder properly (here)
And the print seems quite well except the "top" layer is not properly fully filled..
As you may notice from the attached image, the top layer (not the top 'extrusions' but the flat surface) isn't fully filled.
How can I rectify this? I need to print solids, not see

Wow great job!
I got mine up and running too, maybe not as succesful as your prints due to my z-couplers being to low quality....
I highly recommend going through this tutorial on calibrating the extruder.. It helped me a lot
Also, the screws on your extruder may be too tight for a continuous extrusion, tie them tight but not too tight that the filament gets harder to pass through.
And good l

Hi,
I like you was new at this 3D printing (also not an expert on 3D drawings) and was a bit scared on over taking this project without any experience.
However I built this incredible machine in 3 days (for a noob I was told this was quite fast) and its working great! I only have problems with the Z-axis due to the coupler pieces were el-cheapo made. But so far all that I've printed has printe

Ah I see, I had everything except the last step to convert it into mesh! awesome! then I could even use a different font into it and it would convert it to mesh!
Thanks so much! you've saved me about an hour of work!

Ah that makes sense, I'm just deleting doubles at the moment... I never realized how many doubles one simple design could have...
Thanks a lot for the help I appreciate it!
A question if I may (even though its not relevant to the topic) I'm trying to put text on Blender and convert it to be printed as part of the object, but the program doesn't seem to recognize the text functions in blender.

This is awesome news!
I'm not too sure how I could join parts with others, but I extruded them sufficiently so that they overlap but not deform the main idea of the idea... I did also run through the website you mentioned earlier and found that some of my drawings were showing part of my drawing but not all... so I'm guessing its that I didn't join the pieces am I right?
Thanks a lot, it real

Hi,
I'm new to the forum, I just finished building my new Mix G1 3D printer.
I'm not new to 3D designing, I have been messing around Blender for a year or so and I love the fact that its free... but I've come up with a problem I can't seem to find the answer to.
1. When I try to export my 3D drawings from Blender, as STL files and read them into Repetier-Host and Slicr, they don't get properly
