Ha, Nice milling machine you've got there ^^ Also your 3D printer is realy looking nice, Kinda makes me think about a Ultimaker when i looked at it quickly, Can't wait when you've got it printing there and the results o speeds and quality ^^by luigi - Reprappers
You can always try this simulator before printing when your still new: Since i wouldnt rly try 1.25 on a 0.4 nozzle lolby luigi - Reprappers
Also i wouldnt mess with M codes when you have Pronterface, Maybe a few times, But thats when your actualy testing stuff like a Fan or whatever. It should work when made connection, if it doesnt and it did send that the temprature should be set but nothing happens i guess you should need to use your Multimeter for a sec.by luigi - Reprappers
Weird? This is what you should see And this is the total window Would be very akward if it doesnt show that :/ Maybe this download should help?by luigi - Reprappers
Hey, Well do you use Prontrface to heat it up? If that does work you could try checking if you get any amps from the eletrical port to your Nozzle, and example to check if your nozzle passes the eletrical with a multimeter. Maybe your PSU isnt beafy enough to deliver enough amps to it? Normaly the Heated bed will need like 5-6 amps i believe on its own. The nozzle around 3 amps i believe. Welby luigi - Reprappers
Hello RepRappers, I wanted to ask here if you can print Nylon with a Jhead since the print temprature should be around 190-240c, As most of you know a Jhead can go to 230c so that should be possible, But i was thinking that it may fail to print with a Jhead for other reasons as the heat may be transfered faster with Nylon then PLA or ABS. Also with that i wanted to ask if i need to turn a heatby luigi - Reprappers
Well try putting your motors off with prontrface for example and do it with your hand, If it goes nicely, well check it it rly doesnt go down, and isnt sawing in your fillement to much.by luigi - Reprappers
Well try cutting a piece out of it, in a angle, this does help most of the time quiet a bit with inserting it. Also use a pencil to mark a few places on your fillement so you can clearly see it moving, If it doesnt move maybe try rotating the screws a bit more for more pressure, remember that putting way to much pressure isnt good either. That should work most of the time if i didnt forget a stby luigi - Reprappers
Ye i would just put it in bioling water and look if it becomes flexible like Nophead said, most easy and safe way to test it.by luigi - Reprappers
I would totaly recommend a Prusa i3, And one of the cheapest, easyst way to go in my opinion isnt realy the alu version since it will need some more calibiration, But the Makerfarm.com is fully wood, except the extruder parts are plastic, everything is perfectly laser cutted so ye ^^ about 585 dollars for the 8 inch version, so its very cheap aswell ^^by luigi - Reprappers
Thanks for the help ^^ Well i was going to buy some ABS over a few days/weeks depends when my fillement gone, My steppermotor easly gets 50-80c. so i guess that better stays ABS. (small gear) for the rest i've got everything now in PLA ^^ We will see i guess, When i got my ABS and if it prints well, due i always hear such bad story's haha Anyhow thanks for the help guys!by luigi - Reprappers
No i meant the base for example, and the other plastic part that has the bearing, Can those be PLA aswell?by luigi - Reprappers
Hah, He must be quiet busy then since i guess everyone asks him alot including myself, He is a great supporter and i wonder how he can answer so much xD Anyhow do you think its possible if i would place PLA parts as base aswell after the one gear? Since normaly those dont heat up at all. Yamster Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > luigi Wrote: > > > >by luigi - Reprappers
luigi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > could i also do except the small gear also PLA > like the other parts? > > Well its due just i realy dont have anything > except PLA at the moment Also is it necessary to paint the kit? Kinda going off topic but ye ^^ had that question for a while nowby luigi - Reprappers
could i also do except the small gear also PLA like the other parts? Well its due just i realy dont have anything except PLA at the momentby luigi - Reprappers
Any links for those parts you have done? Well imo the kit is very sturdy and such, only makes a hell of a noise, Probably alot of that is from like you said from the carriage that holds the motor and hotendby luigi - Reprappers
Hey guys, I recently got a Makerfarm prusa i3 8inch (3 weeks ago) Now i am thinking to make a replacement set for my Gear set, just to be sure if it breaks, But i do not have any ABS at the moment and normaly most people do make them from out of ABS (I bought PLA since this is in my bedroom and heard its not realy that healthy) I probably will buy 500 grams on my next order and see how it goeby luigi - Reprappers
also just a small question, Do you guys also need to recalibirate this machine alot? In the Z and the carriage. and the Z screw is getting quiet loose, its not like in the start that it had alot of grip (Yet i never seen it move when you compare it from start to end of a print) But for that there is normaly a Thingiverse solution so thats no big deal i guess.by luigi - General Mendel Topics
btw quick question, do your motors also get very hot? if not how did you fix it, Due well it seems mine stay hot and its normal but just as confirm ^^by luigi - General Mendel Topics
Nice print there, you should make more of those videos ^^ always inspirates what i should do/make next on my printer ^^ I also use that for my spool atm, works like a charm, Back to topic, if you wanna have a good printer bang on buck, just get the makerfarm, But i would suggest a Jhead since that can do ABS and PLA, When the magma seems to struggle, on PLA i have heard. Also full metal hotendby luigi - General Mendel Topics
nibake Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Great. I will check the PSU voltage. I have them > all set to .4v and they still are getting quite > hot. thanks for the help. well when you go to low you might lose some steps, please notify us what you are getting, if it works or not. due mine are very hot, but i dont wanna change it due i dont want my prints tby luigi - Reprappers
Like i said your PSU wont be the problem, Probably it just gets to much amps, and the settings accerlation might still be to fast, But as colin said his ones are atm 10 000 hours of printing and no problems so i aint sure why i would need to bother, The moters are 15 euro (20 dollar) so even if one breaks it isnt a big deal. nibake Wrote: -------------------------------------------------------by luigi - Reprappers

Well your PSU wouldnt be the problem since the ramps would normaly get those amps down when it reaches your stepper motor. Also there arent realy expensive, about 15 dollars a motor i think. nibake Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I have read that they are .5amp motors. I think > part of the problem is my power supply. I was > supposed to buy a power supby luigi - Reprappers
Ye its normal you had these problems kinda, I also had this with my prusa i3 from makerfarm, When talking with Colin for a couple of days we came to the conclusion those settings for accerlation are way to high, I halved em and uploaded that, Colin also did that with his firmware and updated it to the website, Please look at the website now and then for the ramps software since he does change itby luigi - Reprappers
I also got the makerfarm prusa i3 kit a couple weeks ago. they are: 42BHH48-050-24A appdev007 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I'm a bit surprised to hear this out of maker > farm. nibake Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Great. I will check the PSU voltage. I have them > all set to .4v and they still are getting quite > hot. thanks for the help. Hello, I have asked Colin from makerfarm this aswell, He told me its normal and that his printers with over 10 000 hours o printing has the same thing, that you can't touch em due they areby luigi - Reprappers
