I am supposed to get a replacement when I send this one back.
And I did see that post or another one somewhere else, I can't remember right now. I do have some thermistors around and have been looking at some of the docs on how to use them. Maybe on the weekend I will have time to do a new nozzle. That also means taking apart my x axis to swap it out.
Can't wait to print a new x-carraige thi

I like where this discussion is going. Still fairly green to the inner working of the reprap firmwares but I will throw in my 2 cents anyways.

As for compression and error correction ... ... both make debugging the firmware harder since one cannot use simple programs to manually send commands to it.
I would reword this to say: "Getting your idea accepted will require good sc

Your problem must be the A-D connection.
Thanks for all the info. I was able to scope the lines to and from the A-D and they appear to be working fine. I then pulled up the data sheet for the A-D and started testing connections on the board and found that T+ was not making a connection to the terminal post. Trying to fix it but it is really crambed in there. Wishing I had one of t

Yeah I was able to load both the firmwares, each to their respective boards. Flashing the extruder had been working flawlessly, had just been having issues with flashing the MB. I sorta figured that the MB firmware wouldn't have changed much but I figured I should get everything to a known state to start with.
At this point, my understanding is that the MB is not getting a value for the extrud

So I set: "build.verbose=true" and "upload.verbose=true". Think I only really needed the later. And then attempted to upload brnrds modified firmware. It failed due to the chip signature being 0x0000 but I then copied the command and added -F and the firmware appeared to upload.
Only remaining issue is that I am still not getting anything other than 2000 for the extruder temperature in the re

Thanks for the feedback.
Board: Sanguino
Serial Port: /dev/ttyUSB0
I can see the "start" on the serial monitor @ 19200 baud. But my attempts to send commands on the serial monitor winodw aren't working. But the terminal output of reprap shows messages like:
"comms: G-code: N43 G1 Y2.8 *98 dequeued and sent [107.478s/2ms]
comms: GCode acknowledged [107.489s/11ms]"
So I tried just echoing to and

Ok finally getting back to working on the reprap. I have all 3 axis moving smoothly and in the right directions now. Yeay! Using techzone Gen3 electronics with A/D thermocouple fyi. Just need to get the extruder working correctly now, it is heating and the motor is moving but not reporting anything for temperature.
Sounds like Skeinforge 40 to produce the gcode, reprap host software 20100729

I'm in Saskatoon, and just finish assembling my cartesian bot, will hopefully have the electronics tested by next week. Good to know there are others in Sask.
There are a few people here in Saskatoon looking into building Mendels but Saskatoon might be a bit far for you.
We should definitely stay in touch, even if meeting up doesn't work. We might be able to do group buys of supplies, especia

Haven't built it myself but am interested in basing my wooden mendel off of the LaserCut Mendel.
Assuming that what you are looking at on ebay is the same as what is on the wiki it is a 1:1 part swap. So yes build it print out some parts and then assemble a new mendel with plastic printed parts. A couple things I noticed though:
-Look for post processing (see wiki to make sure you have the n

Some great ideas here. After unexpected travel etc getting in the way of building, this gives me some great new ideas to get me motivated again. I really like your use of the aluminium sheet and the bolt across the top, I am going to try that out asap.
Looks like this is based on the Isaac? Also looks like you still need a router table for some of the parts, is that true? I am also extremely

Trying to build a couple repraps in Saskatoon. In basically the same situation, but will let you know if I find a supply of RP parts.
do you have a supply or means of making nozzles. I am still trying to figure out how I am going to do that.

I am still in the process of ordering but what I have found:
* Fasteners: Bolt Supply Warehouse. Except for some of the M3 that they don't have in stock, they are far cheaper than fastenal. The two items they didn't have (M3x20mm c/s and M3 Nyloc) are still cheaper per unit just have to order boxes of 100.
* Bearings: tried all the bike shops and bearing places in town and ended up ordering f
