Anyone know how to expand the on-board memory of this device using SD or SDHC cards ? The idea is to store firmware on cards to save reprogramming and make the programs portable and transferable.by Skip - General
I haven't read through all replies so excuse any repetition. I use 'Solidworks'. It to is very easy to use but if you do have trouble there is a very good help menu with Show me's. It can export .STL files direct. I have tried 'Googles' Sketchup, mainly because it will run on my Mac. I could not find a way to produce an extrusion with a cross section that varies in shape and size along it's lby Skip - 3D Design tools

Join the club. It's purported to be encouraging investigation and experimentation into self reproducing machines but there are to many trying to make money out of it that they make it very hard to find those who want to help. So you may find difficult to get useful details for nothing. As with most good intensions. Sorry to be so negative but simply sharing my experience. Hi ITWiz, I am new to RepRap.org but not home made CNC machines. You sound like the kind of chap that would rather build your own than pay an awful lot of money £400 to £800 for what is, mechanically, only limited by your ingenuity and ability to manufacture parts. Mechanically you only need to produce X,Y,Z axis movement as accurately as possible driven by motors including positioning. Tby Skip - United Kingdom RepRap User Group

Hi geoffd I live near Portsmouth, Hampshire. I'm a newcomer to RepPap and 'forums.reprap.org' and having a bit of trouble finding my way around or how to make it work at the moment. Seems a bit like everybody speaking at once, each with different ideas. Normal enough I suppose and potentially useful. My reason for getting involved and, being a mechanical person, I am primarily looking for helpby Skip - United Kingdom RepRap User Group
I am completely new to 3D printing and can't believe I have only just stumbled on the subject. I am basically a mechanical person with a fair knowledge of electrical wiring but ....not good at electronics and linking via a USB. It so happens that I am just about finished building a home made 4 axis CNC machine for light model making work. The only electrical parts so far fitted are the Astrosynby Skip - Southampton RepRap User Group
