I have been extruding polycarbonate for about a month trying out various methods. I hit 605c at 24v and 3 amps with one prototype. Biggest issue was Getting the heat break small enough and sharp enough. Today's tests we got 300c with a 2mm transition zone between hot and cold sections using 40 watt heater cartridge and k type thermocouple. Amazingly enough the cold end was touchable withby metzindustries - Plastic Extruder Working Group
You don't have to cris cross the belts, you can mount one above the other. The pulleys are just ball bearings with lasered metal, discs to keep from comi g off and a bolt for the shaft. Works fine.by metzindustries - CoreXY Machines
I use core XY in my large format machine. It's really really fast. Had to redesign a entire new print head to take advantage of the speeds. I am getting 500mm sec speeds. It's actually fast enough for putting a Big laser on it for engraving. It was the easiest to set up printer I have done. I use same pulleys and belts from prototype to big machine. Never had to change any step settings foby metzindustries - CoreXY Machines
Few small changes on the printer. Build area is reduced to 12x12x13 due to using proximity sensor end stops. SSR on the heat bed. Print heads are now water cooled. It is called backlash. You need a stiffer filament guide. I have had good luck using motorcycle brake cables. Only thing is they have a bit of oil in them so you should run a 2-3 hour print to work the oil out of it. The print will look terrible at first with lots of bubbles.by metzindustries - Developers
I enabled dual extruder in config h. Set the thermocouple pins 3 and 5. Having issues with the machine displaying temp readings erroneously. I heat extruder 1 and both show heating on the LCD although I have extruder 2 wired isconnected from the heat and the thermocouple,e is hanging outside the case. Also the temp stabilizes 10c below set pint in Repetier, yet the auto tune runs it uby metzindustries - CoreXY Machines
Having problem getting the dual extruders to work with thermocouples. I hooked up aux1 the positive and negative and pin 3. I get temp readings. I enabled dual extruders and I tried Aux pin 4 and pin 7 in pins.h section but no luck. I have the LCD screen taking up aux3. I dissconnected one of the thermocouples and oddly enough it displays 2 different readings. So can i use the Aux2 fby metzindustries - RAMPS Electronics
If you really want big and reliable, ditch the arduino, go with 1hp servos, industrial controllers, and big steel frame. Course you are in the 20k dollar range for parts already, but it's the same with any CNC. Bigger machine the costs and difficulty go up exponentially. No shortcutsby metzindustries - Reprappers
We are building big printers. One thing that comes to mind is something a friend in the inkjet pri t business told me: "you got any idea how many things can go wrong on a 72 hour print?" I use lasered steel frames, CNC bent and heavy industrial components. Sometimes you got to take a giant hammer to the problem and that costs either cash or time if I got the shop to build. I tried the swapping plugs and motor directions without effect on the core xy axis thread. Problem y axis moves good X axis moves backwards. Meaning that when I want it to to to +100 it goes to -100 I tried inverting in config h file without luck.by metzindustries - Reprappers

Ramps shields are really hard to get locally here, but I can get shields that control 2 stepper and they are stackable. Each shield is rated at 2 amp per channel. So i stack the shields, what mods to the firmware do I need to make this work? My other alternative is using servos which need no shield. The laser shop is not running yet in its permanent location. Today the machine is at ateneo. The 200 layout charge is to cover the time spent loading files, setting things up etc. If you have a 2 minute run on the machine that's only 24 pesos but he still spent a bunch of time setting things up.by metzindustries - Philippines RepRap User Group
Here is my idea for a 3d printer fram that will also work as a frame for a mini mill. I was trying to come up with a way to build a machine that would not get jammed up or damage stepper motors if I used cutting oil. I have a CNC plasma table, and researching how to DIY a router I came up with a idea to basically build a router table on top of a box. Hi, Still working on my design. I had to take a break from building for awhile due to lack of funds and parts, but now I am back up and running. I have come up with a frame that is suitable for a mini CNC mill or 3D printing. Same frame, different gantries and slides. Frame size is 1000 long x 500 mm high x 500mm wide. Build area for a 3D printer should be around 900x400x400mm That is FIVEby metzindustries - Philippines RepRap User Group

My friend Arnold Garcia teamed up with a couple people to build a kossel printer. Arnold is a Ateneo grad, from Antipolo, lives in Orange County. Sorry thngs were so crazy when you stopped over. I am actually looking to sell my CNC plasma table and move into 3D printing commercially full time. My current shop just has too many problems with electric and it is going to cost a lot to move into a space with good electric and commercially viable. Instead I will initially use my current 27 meter shop space at my house that has good electriby metzindustries - Philippines RepRap User Group
