Nice, that looks very solid with those 30 mm extrusions. I am very curious to see how this thing performs. I would say it will be good for smaller parts that need high high accuracy and speed. Those 30 mm extrsuion give add a very good weight to the construction and should absorb a lot of vibrations and moving forces. I also have just finished my Rostock (well this thing is never really finished)by maboo - Delta Machines
Very nice! I am playing with a similiar construction in mind, but yet still different. I have used strings on my Rostock on two sides ( it´s a triangular base ) and they do help, yet they will not be a full replacement for the original (ugly) construction. But the strings - I used 1mm nylon - did reduce the movement of the by lets say 30%-40% and they are barely visible. You have to set up your cby maboo - Delta Machines
Quotehercek Check again that your belt is GT2.5 (is pitch of the teeth on the belt 2.5 mm?), your pulley has 20 teeth, and 1/16 microstepping is really selected. If this is correct then yes, your steps/mm should be 64. The pitch seems to be 2 mm, so I changed that. Then I drove all axis home and measured the distance to the printing bed. I send all axis to the bedlevel (g1 z0 ) and measured theby maboo - Delta Machines
My-almost-original-design Rostock is about to be finished. After first tests I remarked that the scale of the objects is far off. The 20 x 20 x 20 mm calibration box only is 11.5mm x 11.5 mm and the layers are very crumbled. Where should I start to correct this ? I have 2.5 belts, 20 teeth pulleys, 1/16 microstepping which should give me a 64 steps per mm. (Correct?) I have read about the diagoby maboo - Delta Machines
Hi Rylan, I am a tech author and (one of the first) KS backers. I really liked your innovative concept and the simplicity of the system - well we all know that there will be "details" that have be solved. One thing I am interested in is HOW you got the idea, using saltwater as a Z-axis? Can you tell the community something about that "magic moment"?by maboo - Polar Machines, SCARA, Robot Arms

@felko: Ich habe verschiedene ausprobiert. Edit: Neiby maboo - Elektrik & Elektronik
Now this is "funny". The downloadlink they gave me is a packed PDF for the UNO R3 not the MEGA 2560. The company name is ProfitVanity(!) from China. The controller (is said to be) one from Saint Smart. Let´s see if they come up with a solution or if this remains blabla....by maboo - Controllers
Which baud rate? I have tried various settings in the systemtray starting with 9600 but Arduino SW would always come up with "overriding baudrate to 115000" I have not altered the baud rate in the config file. Should I try this as well?by maboo - Controllers

I tried to upload sketches (marlin) to the board but I always got a timeout error and the sketch was not uploaded. I am using Win 7. The board is found by windows and COM2 or COM10 is assigned. I have tried various cables. Changed the USB port. Used an additional external poweradapter ( 7V) The yellow pin13 LED is constantly blinking. Then I tried one hint from another forum and pressed shift whby maboo - Controllers
You could try to experiment with nanocoatings. At least some of them are even oil repellend, which is similiar to molten plastic. Only if they can withstand the heat and how long the coating will last seems to be critical to me. But it wont cost much and you can apply the coating to any material fast and easy. Maybe there is a better suited coating for the high temperature purpose than this one hby maboo - General
