Quoteelwood127 P.s. Every time I say guys I wonder if I'm dissing any gals residing here. Are there ladies amongst us? It would be safe to assume there are. Could always say 'thanks all', or 'thanks folk' or something more generic like 'thanks much' if you want.by grog - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO well it just said repetier host I did not see an option for the cura version. It does have a 3d imaging built into it. How do I get to the cura feature to see? Repetier automatically installs Cura and Slic3r so there isn't a different version to download. You can choose it from the software after you get it installed and launched. I find I need to use Arduino 023, 1.x doesn't work. I also have trouble using the one computer, it has an issue with a USB port. Try a different USB port or a different computer. Reboot a few more times. Have a beer and come back to it and it will sometimes magically work.by grog - Controllers

For the incorrect home positions, when you manually try to move the axes, do they move in the direct you expect? If not you may need to invert the endstops. Look for Invert Endstops=true or false. For the Y not moving, does it even try - does it make any noise at all? You might need to turn up the pot on the board.by grog - Reprappers

I have a 2011 Prusa with Gen6 electronics and Marlin firmware. Using Repetier with Slic3r, I don't see where I can change the speed for the Z axis, but I'm not having a problem. Is there a newer version of your firmware avail that could handle it? What electronics are you using?by grog - Reprappers
Per the Wiki What is Sanguino?! Sanguino is the basic architecture of the board (see ). Sanguinololu is Sanguino, with the addition of stepper drivers. Melzi is based on Sanguinololu, so needs some extra files so Arduino IDE can talk to the Melzi. The Sanguino drivers are located within the Marlin folder of the firmware. Copy the 'Sanguino' folder to your /arduino-1.0.4/hardware/ folder.by grog - Reprappers
Before going for the more expensive insulation try a few lower cost items. A grip/foam mat used as a shelf liner and see if that is sufficient for your needs. A floor fatigue mat. Rubber feet for the bottom of the MDF board. Even a piece of carpet would isolate the vibrations from the shell. McMaster.com sells all sorts of rubber, neoprene, foam, etc. While getting it shipped to Sweden woby grog - General

QuoteUkIan Quotecdru I'm not sure that using a screw to hold something down counts as "developing". Does this mean my patent for a device to translate torsional force tangental to a plane into a strong purchase capable of restraining materials is likely invalid? Bugger. Well, a screw down technique probably can't be patented, but I'm sure using a spring can be. I mean who would have thought uby grog - General
I think it depends on what country you're flying out of and into, what airports, which security person you get that day, carry on or checked, etc. I suggest checking with your airline first and see what they say.by grog - General
the computer I use to run the printer is rather old and I get an error about the OpenGL not being current enough and it does the same thing. When it says Print Job finished does it prevent it from doing another job? On the times when it does not, is it when you've closed Repetier and reopened it?by grog - Repetier
I'm only a month late to the post.... MakerGeeks.com has a .33mm drill bit mounted in a holder for cleaning your hotend. They also have some wire they call extruder floss. For a drill bit, you have to know the size of the extruder orifice, such as 0.35mm, and find a drill bit that is a little smaller. For example, one that is rated as wire gauge size 28 is (should be) .3211mm For conversion toby grog - General Mendel Topics
Is this the same print as what you had done before? As in the same model? It is possible the 'resolution' of the model is different. The motors don't actually move in a perfect circle, they make a lot of tiny straight lines to make it look like a circle.by grog - Printing
Have a Prusa Reprap with Gen6 electronics. Hadn't used it for a while so updated the firmware when getting it set up and recalibrated. Printing round items and they aren't coming out quite round. There is an intentional little jog on the perimeter. To try to narrow down the problem I made a cylinder with a hollow middle in OpenSCAD and printed with 2 different compueters and host SW and it isby grog - Firmware - mainstream and related support

Do you have the rest of the printer assembled? In pronterface it would be easy. There is a button for Set the temp. There is also a button to Check the temp. When it gets close to the target temp you could try turning the extruder gear manually. If it extrudes out of, you could click the Extrude button to see that the command works and the gear turns the direction you expect.by grog - Plastic Extruder Working Group
glrra19 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > i dont understand how you import a .stl into > sketchup or openscad. i cant even see my stl files > with these. In OpenSCAD you do an import command such as: import_stl("filename.stl"); The file needs to be in the OpenSCAD folder. I've been buying from McMaster for years, both for parts and equipment for work and parts for personal needs and haven't had any problems. I don't know if it is because of the way the frames are that it doesn't say it is a secure site. I am very comfortable buying from them.by grog - General
For filament duster, I had some spare pieces of assorted foam materials. I think I used a small piece of silicone foam. I just cut a small hole in the middle and a slot so I could take it off without needing to remove the filament. It collects the lint nicely. I remembered to put it on when I opened the extruder to clean chips out and found a lint ball in there. I'm not using a holder, just pby grog - Printing
