Hey. Look at this Glue Dispensing Controller: I think it would be pretty simple to adapt it on a RepRap, just need some mod in the pump (I think that you just have to use a P2 mono wire) and the mount in the extruder, the problem it's that is not quite cheap. So, any ideas/suggestions about that?by Francoo - Paste Extrusion Working Group
Nice ^^ I just buyed the Thermal Compound for my PC, so, 1 step closer to give a "real" help . Did you looked at this guy, he made some very simple HDSLR jag and he has some interessant ideas/designs, like the desing called Field Runner, that has the handle closer and easier to move arround, etc. Another idea it's the extended handle, that it will help alot in long recordings. My dream in a DSLRby Francoo - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
An idea for those that don't want to buy any DSLR or 4/3 it would be a 35mm adapter, they're very simples, they basically are a macro lens, a focusing screen (those you have to buy, but the chineses guys have alot of these cheaply) and a tube w/ bayonet. That with any video camera (a common camcoder, webcam, etc) and a DSLR lens (depending on the bayonet/screw that you make, M42 lens are CHEAP) cby Francoo - Let's design something! Just curiosity, but what camera do you use?by Francoo - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
I've thinked about that some time ago (the last time that I been here it was some weeks ago), and it's nice to see someone else with the same idea. Unfortunally, I haven't even started my RepRap, and my PC it's temporary broken, so I can just help with words . But if the project goes well, I coud start my Mendel so I can record with my 550D I hope that this project goes far, Franco PS: Sorryby Francoo - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
What about molding using a stronger material? I think that a good option is epoxy, better yet if mixed with something, like epoxy granite, or fiberglass, etc.by Francoo - General
Hey guys, I was browing Gizmodo and I saw this: Ok, at the first look appears be a offtopic thing (to RepRap), But: Quotegizmodo.com Comprised of 1539 pieces and roughly 5.5-inches-long in each direction, creator Oskar van Deventer fabricated each individual part using a 3D printer, then he dyed and sorted each piece before assembling it into what your see here. The dyeing and sorting took 10by Francoo - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
Ok then, i'll have to buy the bars outside (about 45 bucks everything). For the theared rod, the Brazilian manufacturer gives this table for sizes: What it's the one that Mendel uses? M8?by Francoo - General
Outch! Getting A2 steel bars here in Brazil it will be hard... There is any alternative to it?by Francoo - General
Sorry for the huge number of questions, but still do not understand a thing. mIn the z-axis, is used a common threaded rod? (of which are found in hardware stores). Because in this thread, a guy sayed that normal threaded rods don't work well...by Francoo - General
Ok, then. But I still can't find the theared rod for the Z-Axis, does anyone knows some shop that sells it word-wide? At good prices?by Francoo - General
"Print lines aren't going to go away; keep in mind this is a fairly low-tech method. " Yes, I know that, but how this guy made this parts: Did he sanded those parts? I noticed that on transparent ABS it shows alot of lines, but on white it just just a little. I think if I make a mm thicker then I can sand to get a smoother surface, with a caliper to check. Did someone have any other idea?by Francoo - General
Yes, I know that there is alot of people using others toolheads, but a CNC needs a bigger area, then, if there isn't pros on doing a RepRap, I would make a CNC with an extrudder. Also, what diameter it's the RepRap X/Y pulleys, it's 45mm? I only know the pitch (5mm, right?).by Francoo - General
Hello, I'm interessed on constructing a RepRap machine, but I have some questions first: What is the pros and cons of a RepRap Mendel over a common DIY CNC machine? How much weight can RepRap supports for the extruder? I live in Brazil, then I'd like to know any cheap shop (inside or outside Brazil, but with good shipping prices) that sells: -Motors -Plastic (ABS) Where can I get the belt anby Francoo - General
