I´m going to play around with the 30day trial first. Let´s see if this tool is for me.by MarcusWolschon - 3D Design tools
Only one person interested? I´ll keep this offer open until Friday. The first parts are already printing. Looks fine.by MarcusWolschon - For Sale
moved some points in AOI to improve printability.by MarcusWolschon - General Mendel Topics
Is anyone interested in having a set of mendel-parts printed? If there is interest I would start an auction at a minimum of 120eur to be payed when they are done (can take serveral weeks untill all parts are made). They would be printed in white ABS on a RepMan, probably with 0.25mm layer-height. Two answers are enough, no need for a giant "mee too"-list, no discussion about a price. Thanks but I´ve already adapted visolate for my RepMan. Version 2.1.4 workes find using a pen an hour ago on my RepMan and tomorrow I´ll probably add the option to set the head-speed and then have it run on a real PCB. Does pcb-gcode do voronoi or just mill what would otherwise be etched like all the others?by MarcusWolschon - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
Ok, Visolate 2.1.0 now can create gcode that happily runs on the RepMan. * absolute coordinates * non-shortened gcode (if using absolute) * metric units * specify initial xyz-location * specify z-clearance between cutting and travelingby MarcusWolschon - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping

Are there any other settings that are global? If so I would likeby MarcusWolschon - Skeinforge
I had massive similar problems removing holes from the RepMan part 10056 to model my alternative milling-head out of it. Closing the holes with faces was ...well not easy as the alt+f -tool is terribly stupid but workable. Removing the left over nodes inside the plane was next to impossible without drawing thousands of polygons by hand.by MarcusWolschon - 3D Design tools
When I changed the export-settings of the profile milling-end mill this also changes the export-settings of the profile extrusion->repman and vice versa. Verson of Skeinforge: 2010-01-30 PS: For milling I need to manually remove many lines with self-destruct coordinates like Z-91234567280 . Seems to habben just before each layer.by MarcusWolschon - Skeinforge
Good news everyone! I managed to find settings for Skeinforge that seem to work for the RepMan. So now you can in theory mill 3d STL-objects on the RepMan. It looks good when executed milling thin air but needs testing. Video:by MarcusWolschon - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping

I tried to generate milling-gcode with skeinforge and the first 2 movements are G1 X-29 Y-303 Z-91234564280 F9600 G1 X-29 Y-303 Z8620 F4800 Now my coordinates are only I just cannot seem to find the place in skeinforge to set the volume milling is to be performed in. Update: I found some settings and documented them but nothing about the dimensions of the object to mill from yet.by MarcusWolschon - Skeinforge
Here is my first video of this toolhead working it´s way through a PCB using a completely mismatched milling-bit and manual controls for movement:by MarcusWolschon - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
VDX Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ... interesting question ... which stability is > possible with plastic-chucks Well, I jump on some parts here that have barely 20% hexagonal infill and they will not break. If they can build Car-parts from ABS the it should be strong enough to hold some wood, plastic of leightweight metal object centered. Of cause evenby MarcusWolschon - Mechanics
Here is the gcode-file I´m trying to load.... It is a voronoi-milling of the RepRap opto-endstop.by MarcusWolschon - Skeinforge
Skeinforge allowes to load gcode -files in and analyse-skeinview-skeinview. (at least it lists gcode in ) Now I am trying to visualize some existing tool-pathes (trying my hands on pcb milling on a RepMan) but the fist produces Could not find plugin to handle /home/fox/working_on/repman/objects/mendel/reprap-opto_endstop-2.1/gerber/ComponentTraces.gcode Exception in Tkinter callback Tracebackby MarcusWolschon - Skeinforge
It is done. The toolhead is a tight fit and should work just nicely. * I am currently patching visolate to generate g-code to mill PCBs. (New download-location: ) * These Eagle-scripts may do the job too if no vorinoi is required. (Much more milling then needed without voronoi.) * I guess Skeinforge with a milling-setting can be used to generate gcode to mill 3d-objects. Feel free to adapt iby MarcusWolschon - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
I know Truespace and it´s not a CAD-program but just another modeller too. Easier to use then blender but I would need to reboot all the time as skeinforge runs on Linux.by MarcusWolschon - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
I could use some better tool then blender to design objects to exact meassurements and some way of simulating g-code before execution would be nice too.by MarcusWolschon - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
Never mind. I found Visolate to generate g-code forthe voronoi-outlines given gerber-files that eagle can supposedly export. >What software or CAD/CAM have you running? As I said. I´m using a RepMan 3D-printer and am printing an alternative tool-head to mount a Dremel instead of the extruder. It gets an SD-card with the g-codes and will happily run that path. There is no PC software runninby MarcusWolschon - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
So my RepMan is currently printing the first version of a RepMan toolhead for a Dremel flex-shaft. I know that Skeinforge can create g-code for milling given an stl-file. What I am looking for is the software needed to create gcode tool-pathes for milling PCBs given an eagle file or a bitmap. Preferably of cause using voronoi to minimize the milling but I would go for something simpler that juby MarcusWolschon - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
One of the advantages of Mendel over Darwin was to get from 4 vertical rods down to 2. You are going backwards in evolution here.by MarcusWolschon - General New Machines Topics
I guess you are refering to an airframe to house the motors and the different parts of the electronics? What electronics do you plan to accomodate? There are so many quadcopter-projects going on, it´s hard to count the designs. I myself am more a paraplane+paparazzi -type of guy. longer air-times, easier to build and fly and extremely safe against crashes (paracute included ). As opposed to quaby MarcusWolschon - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
I´m in Germany at the Swizerland-Border and I MAY be able to print the mendel-parts for you after I get some new ABS tomorrow. My RepMan is up and running since last thursday so it MAY go wrong and It WILL take a few weeks at least. No Idea what amounth of compensation I would request yet.by MarcusWolschon - Reprappers
Something to clamp the Dremel or it´s flexible axis in would probably be easier to manufacture. For mounting the tip of the dremel something taking advantage of the default detachable ring in that place or an existing dremel-attachment to provide a matching and mechanically stable threading sounds more reasonable the any atempt to print a thread for a milling-head that would have to withstand excby MarcusWolschon - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
Don´t move the thread. It´s far from being urgent and when we move all the threads out of here, noone will come ever.by MarcusWolschon - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping

Ah, again a new version. (2010-01-22 instead of my 2010-01-20) Thanks. I just tried it and the issue still exitst. The object and skeinforge-settings are attached to this message. (profile is any of the two ABS-bfb) Is there some kind of changelog to see what has changed between skeinforge-versions? Or a blog to see what parts are currently being worked on?by MarcusWolschon - Skeinforge
