I have great success with bulldog lite and hexagon after I realised that the hexagon shone mount that screw to the extruder was wobbling. A sliver of ABS later and alls good.by GRAYWOLF - Printing
On my borosillicate glass I use a layer of Kapton tape and a layer of slurry (abs mixed with Acetone) Haven't had a problem since I discovered slurry (well excluding the fact I forgot to readjust the heat bed after a rebuild)by GRAYWOLF - General
This is how I got it to work 1, load object, 2, draw cube around section to remove, 3, goto Cobine>Subtract, 3.5, Select Object in the pill shaped dialogue 4, select object to be cut, 5, select cutting object, 6, hit return. The OS X version of the programs are very broken. Sorry, been very busy and kept getting the same bug that you didby GRAYWOLF - 3D Design tools
As an owner of an OOZNEST printer I have to say to go for the ooz. its nice to put together, simple instruction, very little fine tuning in assembly and very reliable. All my issues have been down to me.by GRAYWOLF - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteOhmarinus To be honest, I doubt your knowledge of meshmixer then. Meshmixer is a very powerful program and can fix most errors an STL can have. Are you sure you're not overlooking an option in meshmixer? Which the fix option or the Combine option? The one highlighted when you select all parts? The picture shows the previous file state and the attached files is the output AFTER clicking cby GRAYWOLF - Printing
That file is the results of meshmixer. Obviously not good enough for what it's intendedby GRAYWOLF - Printing
That explains it, Autodesk software is shite! I used mesh mixer to combine them into one object but it looks like the software doesn't work. Thank you for looking.by GRAYWOLF - Printing
Attached is the .stl file for my double bulldog lite extruder mount. Meshmixer, 123d Design and cura show the object as one joint object but when I try to print, the parts of the extruder mount get split! Is my computer lying to me or is the printer confused? QuoteWurtle38 I didn't reverse the connection because it would still be wrong. and it is connected to the correct driver, it's working now but was working a few minute ago and "flipped" again mid print Flipping mid point? Have you tried a different slicer app? Apart from getting a magic sword and going gremlin hunting, this is odd!by GRAYWOLF - Printing
QuoteWurtle38 I think they're both using slic3r. don't even need to put the filament in I can watch it turn the wrong way And you tried reversing the connections on the ramps board? You have connected it to the correct driver have you?by GRAYWOLF - Printing
What slicer software are you using? if cura, are you using the correct settings? Is your hot end heating? Have you pulled out the filament to check that it hasn't slipped or chewed? Is the tension correct of the feeder?by GRAYWOLF - Printing
Is anyone using 123d Design? I'm trying to mirror a part but the function won't work. I've tried to follow the online vids but 123d Design won't let me select an object of face to mirror. Tried mesh mixer but can't get the thing to align to plane properly (can't get more accurate the 0.3 degrees for the angle I need (90 degrees from previous plane!) Tried free cad but it just won't allow me to seby GRAYWOLF - 3D Design tools
A few question! What Extruder? what electronics? What Firmware? Is the filament pushed into the hot end? QuoteGrimes_1999 Ok so when I go to print something everything works great and the extruder moves in the shape of the object and rises after every layer as it should but theres no filament coming out. Did it extrude when you ran the calibration test? Quotedewdaddy57 I also have this issuby GRAYWOLF - Printing

QuoteAno Did you try to heat the nozzle up a bit more for the first layers? Nope didn't think of that let alone know how too. It heats up to 235 sits there then drops to 232 and starts printing. QuoteAno And when are your fans switching off btw, at which hotend-temp? That I don't actually remember but today printing out a duel extruder head so it hasn't had the time to chill. As google seam to be dislexic or controlled by Skynet How do I split an object using 123d Design on OS X?by GRAYWOLF - 3D Design tools
Quotetmorris9 No need to remove filament after use, pretty sure nobody does this. Post more about your machine like temperatures you use and what hotend. Prusa i3 Bulldog lite extruder, 0.4m nozzle, Hexagon hotness @ 230c Hotbed @ 100cby GRAYWOLF - Printing
So twice now after not printing for several days, I have notice that the filament jambs in the hot end and the extruder chews into the filament without pushing it into the hot end. QuoteOhmarinus Also had this with another extruder, put in a shim and it was gone. Very handy hose things Btw, by 'nozzle' I think you mean hotend? Yep, sorry, typo!by GRAYWOLF - Printing

Quoterich1812 I found Blender works very well for me now since I can't afford and cannot justify an expensive CAD software. Funny thing is I wanted to learn to use Blender for the longest time but I HATED it, The interface was confusing for me at best. All these Object mode, Edit mode blah, blah, blah...Then there are all these key short cuts, and I am a Mac user, so all the num pad short cutsby GRAYWOLF - General
I noticed that I was getting x/y shift on my print layers and when I pulled apart my bulldog lite extruder I noticed that the hotend was wobbling in its mount. My solution that cured this issue? A shim, Using the excess raft, i hoped of a bit and shoved it in the gap between the hot end and the pulley assembly. resault is no wobble and no layer shift!by GRAYWOLF - Printing
Has anyone actually watch the printers print? I'm watching it and noticed that no two layers are ever printed the same! I know thats mostly down to the zig-zag in fill but even with its the same direction, the printers wonders around to print sections in a different order to the last print path. Is this normal or is this down to the generated code? Sorry but I don't know enough about how these tby GRAYWOLF - General
I use inventor fusion to create my master models then import into 123d for finale tweeks (can't get the same control in 123d hence the odd way to do things) I have a part finished and I have started on the second piece but I have a confusion (still learning cad work.) I have head wobble on mine (when it snags) Try wrapping ptfe tape around the section of the nozzle to tighten up the mount.by GRAYWOLF - Printing
