Search this thread post a few pages back, and download the updated firmware. That will help ALOT. Set up the settings in Cura as stated in the instructions. This thread is pretty much the only source of good info on these printers. My recommendation is to start at page 1 and go through the entire thing. There are a lot of good dudes here that are really helpful. what version Windows you rby veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Whenever I first turn power on I get this message on the LCD. What is happening and how can I fix it? Do a reset and it is fine.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
If you look at the trim pots you will see 3 contacts (2 on the bottom, one on top). Positive lead to single contact - negative lead to usb connector housing. I am printing at 210C, 40 on the bed with blue tape on a raft.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteUkemaxxer Quoteveaceonee My filament is 1.67-1.69. Did the PID autotune, and turned down the stepper pot Voltages and it is getting much better. What parameters did you use for PID autotune. I used M303 E0 S200 C8, but every time it fails with temperature too high M301 P22.20 I1.08 D114.00 This is what is echoed from the printer when I connect in Pronterface. 235?! Isnt that a little high for PLA?by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Recalibrated the extruder. And this is how it is turning out. There is no layer seperation, all the layers are tightly bonded. Any ideas. This one is printed at 210C Nozzle temp.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
As best I could. Think I should do it again?by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteCAlleman I would say the 1.5 layer height is WAY too big...I usually do my normal prints with .2 and ones I really need to be nice/strong at .1 - I don't think you'd ever want to go over .4 sorry, meant to say 0.15 layer height.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Why do my objects keep turning out to look like stacked waffles? PLA 190C - extruder 40C - Bed 1.5 - Layer height 70 mm/s Edit- this was made after I did the PID autotuneby veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants

Anyone know how to make this thing play nice with Windows 8.1??????by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Tried my first print. I cannot hook into the computer so everything is off the sd card. Didnt turn out so well. think it is FUBARd. Edit- it is supposed to be a 10mm test cube. Edit 2- tried again, and what is happening is when it goes to the next layer it puts it next to it instead of on top of it, making kind of a stairway thing instead of a cube.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
How can I get this to work with Windows 8? It will not recognize it no matter what I try.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteMigMic Quoteveaceonee My printer is due to come in tommorrow (after nearly a month and a bunch of lies). Anyway, I have read mixed reviews on the power supply that comes with this thing. Would it be better/safer to use the PSU that comes with it or an old ATX computer power supply (the one I am planning is rated at 19A on the 12v rail)? Hi, Suggest you try the PSU you get with the Migbotby veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Im pulling my hair out. Got the printer built, and tested everything and it all works (amazingly). I plug it into the computer, and it will not recognize it no matter what I do. Does it not work on Win 8.1? How can I get it to work through the computer? Also, the auto level green sensory thing is lower than the print nozzle. Is there something wrong or did I not assemble the extruder assembby veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
Finally got my printer in today. Was looking over things and noticed the wiring is odd for the steppers. There are 4 pin connectors and 6 pin connectors. The 4 pins are wired black green blue red. However the 6 pins are wired red green blue black. Which is correct? How can I fix it? Thanx.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants

i will give it until Monday. If it isn't out of Hong Kong by Monday morning then I will file a dispute. I have the entire email trail, and website screenshots as evidence of there fraudulent business practices. I am just praying IF it ever shows up its not a lump of plastic. I knew I should have spent the extra $25 and gotten the machine I was looking at before this one.by veaceonee - Prusa i3 and variants
QuotegatorNic Interesting, maybe some shady buisness going on over at 3dprintersonline.com. Where I bought mine. Several days ago there were 43 reviews, with several new ones being one or two star. Those have since disappeared, along with others. There is only 26 reviews now. I mean there is still a couple 1 stars up there, but 17 review difference is quite a bit.
