Marcus, The RapMan wont work with the Java host software for controlling, it comes with its own software on the PCB for interpreting G-code. The good news is that the RapMan hard- and software where created with the idea of having multiple heads. Each head has a different resistor to identify it. The RapMan was originally intended for light milling with a dremel head therefore the design is a bitby unfold - RepRap Host

The 23s are used as far as I understand, you can read something about it here: Its good to search all the topics on McWire on the forum to get more info. > > Also I'm having some trouble fiby unfold - Reprappers
well, here you go then: You will need some NEMA 23 steppersby unfold - Reprappers
Hi T3Aguy, As you have found out by now, the reprap is not something you can buy from the shelf at the moment . If you want a 'real' reprap (not STrap) you'll have to find somebody who wants to donate or sell you parts, thats a hard job. The other option is a repSTrap, you can build one from scratch or use the plans available. You'll always have to invest lots of time and skills to pull this offby unfold - Reprappers

@ Archimed Yes, I had more head crashing too lately. Looks like the model starts below 0 from time to time. @ Enrique Any idea if my smaller inner perimeter problem could be caused by Skeinforge? I downloaded the latest version and deleted the .Skeinforge directory. Redid all my settings and the problem is still there. The outer perimeters have the correct size (< .2 mm off) but the inner perby unfold - Skeinforge
Here and there I see people printing screws, screw caps and other threaded items: How is this done? I tried printing a replacement screw for a Fisher Price activity center but the thread is a complete mess. Which is btw very logical since it is in fact a very low angled overhang... Is this done with support material?by unfold - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Don't know what I changed in Skeinforge but an object that extruded perfectly well before has its inner holes now at least 1-1,5 mm smaller (2x one extrusion width it appears). The outside perimeter has still the correct size, weird. Anyone knows what setting this might be? ps Enrique, the file picker proplem is solved with the latest version. I get this warning and the file picker opens in theby unfold - Skeinforge
There's some discussion over at the Bits from Bytes forum about using the USB port (slave) on the Rapman PCB for sending files directly from your computer to the SD card. At the moment the USB port is only used for uploading firmware updates. I dont think Zachs board has a slave usb port but this might be a lot easier than adding USB master capabilities. It turns your board into a card readerby unfold - General
Hi, is anyone aware of a visual Gcode editor? I have my Skeinforge generated Gcode and when I see the Skeinview window I REALY want to be able to delete or alter some of those lines. For example, if you have a hole somewhere your reprap is often very capable of bridging that hole. If the hole is more a concave opening in your form then the direction in which to bridge this hole is very important.by unfold - RepRap Host
Hi Enrique, Yes confusing sorry. Its not a Skeinforge file. Its the previous converted STL. So I press the Skeinforge button in the interface, a filebrowser opens and I select the file abc.stl. Everything converts fine. Next time I open Skeinforge and press the Skeinforge button the filebrowser opens and I can select the file xyz.stl and convert that into Gcode. That doesn't work if I move the fby unfold - Skeinforge
Hi, I noticed that when I move the last processed STL file to a different location that Skeinforge exits with an error when I try to process a new file that. The error states that SF cant find that moved file. Is this a bug or a featureby unfold - Skeinforge

I'm having the same problem since today on both of my Skeinforge installs that used to work. I'm on OsX and I did a series of OS updates this week, could that be the problem? I use a Bits from Bytes machine once in a while for furniture models. But the main use is experimental. As Freds explained, overhangs are a real problem without support material, and there is no solution for that in the near future. Another problem is warping for parts that have a large base. I can imagine tat that will be the biggest problem for arch models.by unfold - General

Hi Forrest, Thanks for your comment! I was a bit surprised by the print quality, expected some more bumps in the road before getting there. Bits from Bytes did a wonderful job on the kit. Hi all, quick update,: I've build a Bits form Bytes machine and it is happily crunching out plastic objects. What a fantastic machine. Of course the first print was a (un-whiskeyproof) minimug. Next step, syringe tool. Photos are @ thanks for al the advice!by unfold - Paste Extrusion Working Group

vervelend.
