McMaster.com The part numbers are: X and Y axis: 7959K24 (sold by the foot - you'll need 8ft) Z Axis: 6484K512 (the wrong belt is listed in the BOM - it lists the 37" ones, which are too short - this is the 39" belt). Do keep in mind you'll need to split the belts - these are roughly 6.5mm, and you need 5mm wide ones for the Mendel.

I haven't printed it with myself (still assembling my Mendel...hoping to be done soon), but Rustyspoon got some of mine from me - I've seen the results, and they're good. He also mentioned he's printing faster then he was able to with the PLA he had. Maybe he can post up his thoughts more directly?

He appears to have shipped something, though he hasn't responded to my e-mail about the x-bar and extruder kit. He also has yet to show the system giving a proper print - he's shown it starting to print something, but not appearing to print correctly, and that was a week ago. Has anyone had any luck with this yet?

My kit came in today. No x-bar, no extruder, as unfortunately expected. It's clear there's no good way to take inventory, and I'll have no time to put this together for a while, if I bother at all - I have acquired a stock set of Mendel parts and am in the midst of assembling a 'true' Mendel. We'll see what happens...I won't start assembling this until I see someone having one printing, anyway

Jeffrey: everything on the Reprap is low-voltage DC - I highly doubt you'll get a shock, unless you have wet hands when you touch something. The highest voltage in this version of the Reprap is 18V DC from what I can tell - nowhere near enough to cause any real harm under normal circumstances. Again, just don't be wet when working with it, and you should be okay - and if you are worried about

The latest video shows the extruder pushing out PLA - it looks like the PLA is still coming out WELL after the motor stops (albeit at a slower speed) - which you refer to as 'drooling.' From watching the video and my understanding of your design, even with a reversed motor this is going to be virtually impossible to eliminate. If you need lock washers against a plastic or wood surface, the best bet from my experience (in the arcade industry), is to put a regular washer between the lock washer and the surface. The way I've seen this usually done is: (nut) (lock washer) (washer) (material(s)) (washer) (lock washer) (screw head) This tends to get a very tight lock, and I haven't experienced loosening when this is done

Good to hear you got it in...hoping he gets mine shipped soon. I'm a bit worried that he hasn't updated the shipping status page - I really want to get started assembling this thing next week, and will be quite disappointed if he doesn't ship it today (Monday was three weeks from the date I ordered it...).
