I wonder how much market there is for unused Gen3 Electronics. I have Motherboard, Extruder board and 3 Stepper boards from MakerBot. Unaltered and never used. I'm thinking I might want to go the RAMPs route.. Scottby sasharp65 - General Mendel Topics
Thanks, I will check into it. I really don't want to spend $200 for new electronics. Unless there would be a market for unused Gen 3 Electronics that I could sell.by sasharp65 - General Mendel Topics
Hi, I'll soon have all my parts to build my first Prusa Mendel. I started collecting parts over a year ago so I have Generation 3 Electronics from Maker Bot. Would someone who built a Prusa with these Electronics post some pictures for me so i can see how you laid them out? Thanks! Scottby sasharp65 - General Mendel Topics
Hi, I bought all of the parts to build a Mendel (minus the printed parts) a year ago or so... I couldn't find many people selling at the time. Can anyone give me any info on people selling Printed Prusa Parts? I'm still interested in building one, especially since I have all of the hardware and electronics! Thanks! Scooterby sasharp65 - General Mendel Topics
Yes, please do. My stopping point and I suspect a lot of first time builders is getting a set of printed or machine parts to start with.by sasharp65 - General Mendel Topics
Thanks! Maybe when I'm to the point of actually building my Mendel, someone will have created a tutorial on how to use them for the Mendel? The are a lot cheaper then MakerBots price of $35 a piece. I guess I could always buy them and learn to play with them before that time. Next issue - what to do about the printed parts. I need to come up with an inexpensive solution until I can print outby sasharp65 - Controllers
I'm very new to all of this without much previous experience in electronics, stepper motors, etc. I've been waiting for Makerbot to get electronics back in stock but came across the EasyDriver. EasyDriver Has anyone used or planning on using EasyDriver? With my limited knowledge I don't want to stray too far away from the path.by sasharp65 - Controllers
I'm new to all of this (electronics, extruders, stepper motors, etc.) but saw these on Ebay. Ebay Nema 17 Can someone tell me if they would work for a Mendel with the MakerBot stepper driver controllers? Thanks. Scottby sasharp65 - Mechanics
James, Do you have the link or address to the video? Thanks! Scottby sasharp65 - General Mendel Topics
I'm just now starting to gather material for building a mendel and the bearing kit was the first thing I just bought. I just ordered from VXB and at check out I used the Amazon purchase option. $4.99 shipping to Pennsylvania so the total was $54.94. Now I need to figure out how I'm going to get/make the electronics. I'm new to all of this reprap/mendel/electronics building but I do want to build one. I'm in the US and went to Lowes, Home Depot and Tractor Supply yesterday. They did not have metric but I could have bought 5/16" bar stock & threaded stock plus bought the nuts and washers for $1.99 a pound. As I'm still trying to navigate all of the Wiki material and forums, has any built one using 5/1by sasharp65 - General Mendel Topics
Sebastien, I don't see a RUG for Pennsylvania, so maybe you can set one up? Thanks! Hi Tony, I'm just starting out in this fascinating world so I have a lot to learn and catch up on. Scottby sasharp65 - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group
Great! Now I just have to research the best place to get the parts in the US.by sasharp65 - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group
Interested in Mendel parts if any begins to have stock. Scott PAby sasharp65 - Wanted
Howdy, Just watched a YouTube video last night about Mendel and I was like Wow! Too bad I'm not mechanical, electrical, or technical.....but I have always had a curiosity with them and currently plan to learn to solder etc. I currently work in IT Helpdesk. Maybe someday I'll learn enough to build one and we can get together. I'm currently in State College PA but know where York is. I graduaby sasharp65 - Pennsylvania RepRap User Group
Just found out about Mendel and have the same dilema on how to start with no parts. Too bad some you couldn't duct tape it together long enough to print out your first set of parts. LOLby sasharp65 - General Mendel Topics
Hi, Just found the world of Mendel, I don't know what I don't know but I need to start accumulating parts. I am interested in two sets. Both PTFE. One with the 0.5mm orifice, one with the 0.3mm orifice. Thanks. Scottby sasharp65 - For Sale
