I haven't tracked all my changes but I am working on Repetier at the moment. I know it is a bit lazy but if I had been recording everything I have done it would have taken three times as long I removed the jumper JP12 from the back of the X3 and have attached the remaining wires from the SD card header on the Viki to the X3 as per the photo below: and I just received and email from Jim the Wolby Wired1 - For Sale
Ah, thanks. The jumper is labelled so I should have seen it. If I upload Marlin it the SD card on the Viki now works in preference to the one on the Azteeg so that tells me that is all correct. The LCD shows the opening page and one menu page but the rotary switch doesn't work. It runs SD card g-code from Pronterface and the lights on the viki light up when they should. But you have to run it froby Wired1 - For Sale
Thanks again Eric, I will attach a fan to the Azteeg and see if it actually turns it on All the lights come on or off depending on the selection made with the rotary switch using Repetier. Using Wolfman's Marlin the rotary switch only partly works although it does work with Pronterface and the lights come on or off as you select heat etc on Pronterface. Ideally I want to have it run un-tetheredby Wired1 - For Sale
OK some success, I'll post what I've got in the hope that someone else can fill in the blanks. I have now gone over to the dark side and used Repetier firmware which is not ideal as it works strangely with Pronterface. But the aim is to have a stand-alone machine that doesn't need a computer tethered to it so it really doesn't matter as long as it works. With Repetier the panel works with all theby Wired1 - For Sale
Might give it a go then, this looks like the latest firmware version Repetier firmware Still struggling with the pinouts from the azteeg and connection to the viki but have posted on a couple of forums so hopefully it will be revealed soon.by Wired1 - For Sale
Quick question (sure). If I change to Repetier firmware do I have to use their host as well or will it run with Pronterface?by Wired1 - For Sale
Thanks again Eric, it got me on the road to getting it going. I found the same version of Marlin and have now managed to get it to display something although the selector dial doesn't work yet. At least it is starting to show some promise. I think I will keep going with it and see if I can get it to do the basic functions. If I have any joy I'll make it available somewhereby Wired1 - For Sale
Thanks Eric, that's pretty much what I had guessed for that lead. I also want to get the SD card reader working but I might concentrate on the display first up. What firmware did you use?by Wired1 - For Sale
Hit another wall today. The Azteeg board has 6 pins for the ICSP but the documentation doesn't show which pin is which. Neither the reprapwiki page nor Roys page give this information so it will be blind luck if I get the pins correct. Is it that hard to have a simple diagram showing how to connect the Viki to the Azteeg X3?by Wired1 - For Sale
Well it is a very nice unit and looks like it should do the job ... once I get it going. The unit arrived with a couple of connecting leads (6 pins to 6 individual pins on the other end) but without any documentation showing how to connect it to my Azteeg X3 board. The web page also doesn't have this information but does have a video of it running on a 3D printer which shows that it does work andby Wired1 - For Sale
Is Marlin with viki support available on this page? Github I have been all over this page and can't find it.by Wired1 - For Sale
Can't get my head around github. Is the Marlin file with viki support somewhere on that page?by Wired1 - For Sale
What display setup did you pick in marlin?by Wired1 - For Sale
Which version Mendel Max are you building?by Wired1 - New Zealand RepRap User Group
My Viki arrived yesterday thanks Roy. I'm going to use it with the X3 I recently bought on my new OB1.4 printer - it's about time I got back onto that project and got it printed. Looks very nice in black, I'll post something when I have made some headway.by Wired1 - For Sale
I've had this occasionally too. Check the filament diameter and then tweak the multiplier to get it to join up. Normallyh comes right for me if I just measure it and enter that figure.by Wired1 - General
Hi Roy, I'm still waiting for my Viki, I was 14th to sign up on the Kickstarter page you know...by Wired1 - For Sale
Ignore the common terminals so the pairs are Pin1 & Pin 3 to 2a & 2b and Pin 4 & Pin 6 to 1a & 1b. If they go the wrong way swap either 2a & 2b or 1a & 1b but not both.by Wired1 - General Mendel Topics
Now that's a regime I could live with - I mean you can't let the rest of the bottle go to waste and it gives you something to watch while you're drinkingby Wired1 - General
Excellent turn out, bugger not to be there but maybe next time - it's nice to be busy at work after last year so can't complain. Did anyone get any photos?by Wired1 - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I will try the vinegar thanks - great idea and smells a lot better than acetone.by Wired1 - General
At those temperatures must be PLA. I just print straight on glass and never clean it other than a quick scrape with a razor blade so sounds about right.by Wired1 - General
I'm thinking about building a bigger printer so I'm looking for a larger heated bed. Minimum 9" square but would prefer 10" and would have a good think about 12" square. It would also be worth thinking about a rectangular bed say 8" x 12". Who is making beds larger than 8x8"?by Wired1 - General
Is this available outside Australia?by Wired1 - For Sale
Great, but where is funding website link? you say it's not kickstarter but don't actually say where it isby Wired1 - For Sale
My Azteeg X3 arrived today thanks Roy, looks a little different to the first one I bought with a few more bells and whistles on this one. Still waiting for my Viki panel but I guess that can't be far away as I see you are listing 49 in stockby Wired1 - For Sale
If you have a Bunnings nearby they sell them in packets.by Wired1 - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Too much work now bugger it, have a good one )by Wired1 - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I've also been using the Azteeg X3. Very easy to alter the firmware on (Printrboard is a bitch to change) and uses standard plug in stepper drivers. Has on-board SD and driver slots for 5 axes. I have also signed up for their LCD control panel prototype which should arrive soon. Comes with very nice to use screw terminals, none of that header pin bollocks.by Wired1 - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Yes I think I made it worse, the charred lumps finished it off. Thanks for all the tips, I have a couple of these now so have some to experiment with.by Wired1 - General
