just wondering if you have a printer made from these cast parts that is actually printing and if so for how long?by mlagana - For Sale
what are you casting in? how long has it been printing for?by mlagana - For Sale
here is a nice and simple destroyer: little dangerous without a chute though!by mlagana - General
did i mess up the replies in this thread somehow?? haha. oh well only 2 kits left.by mlagana - For Sale

i have had feedback from stop motion animators who are watching but waiting for finer resolution and more commercial looking prints before jumping on the wagon. the feature 'coraline' i believe used replaceable heads that were each 3d printed. I'm more interested in reprap for mechanical parts, aesthetically i prefer seeing finger prints in art-objects over the best quality 3d prototyping.by mlagana - General
what electronics are you using?by mlagana - General
oh if anyone was following my above mental breakdown about the SCREWY MOTION CONTROL PROBLEM I didn't ever solve it and i had no idea what the problem was so i ended up hacking into a scanners motor using an arduino mini and pololu, so much nicer i'm totally sold on the pololus X16 microstepping = no vibration and basically no sound which was a problem at first because it was moving such small inby mlagana - Reprappers
you should be able to do the turning at home on free software like blender, art of illusion or openscad to name a few. most people myself included use repsnapper + skeinforge over the reprap software anyway, you get nicer prints this way.by mlagana - General
i'm an artist i went to artschool, my only experience pre reprap similar to it was making stop motion animation camera dollys. but now i'm obsessed with reprap and it's future I see little kids using them in public schools to fix their school and later go on to be high school students designing and inventing out of this world things on repraps for their year 12 design projects, excited for my nby mlagana - General
Anyone else interested in getting a few of just the PCB board that inserts into the Arduino PRO and then allows pololu steppers to be inserted into it? Either from the states or we make a batch for australians.by mlagana - Australia, Melbourne RUG
i've been waiting for a decent smartphone cad modelling app so i could do some modelling on the many trains and buses i get everyday.. hopefully this website will work but i'm yet to tryby mlagana - General
arduino mega and pololu you might be able to get locally or maybe from polulu directly woudl be best.by mlagana - General
you mean the supports going down from the extruder base to the peek block? you would be better off going smaller, m3 could do the job fine and won't transmit as much heat up to the area of the extruder you want coldby mlagana - General
when i print ABS i open up my garage completely, get a lovely draft through it (roller door one end, big windows and door the other) but if i have to do work in the same room, if i can SLIGHTLY smell the ABS i wear a chemical mask while i do other work. Who know what it could be doing in the long run and on top of all the molding, metal/plastic casting, soldering, brazing, wood/plastic sanding,by mlagana - General
My only other idea is to cut out the software all together, control the canon DSLR camera through arduino with a mosfet... I guess i will just have to try pity it's 2 hours away from my studio edit: but the arduino is still just sending the same thing over the same wires to the stepper driver, so sending the arduino commands from a computer OR pushbutton wouldn't really make a difference would iby mlagana - General
What if instead of using the stepper class... I used low high commands to the stepper pin? How many miliseconds would one leave the step pin HIGH to push 1 step?by mlagana - General
ok that did NOT solve the stuttering... any ideas would be great !! maybe the polulu won't do this stutter every 4 frames thing??by mlagana - General
i also have just got my first polulu and have it wired up so that the m1 m2 m3 are high, so i have 16X200=3200 steps per rev.. i set my Steps per revolution to 3200? is that possible?? wouldn't 1 step be in the microns.. that's for the quick response guysby mlagana - General
i see, so full stepping you can't have a decimal place?by mlagana - General
ok sweet thankyou! So all this time i shoudl have had it set to 400 steps... whilst i was having troubles every 4th frame... there are two 4's in that sentence and that is the extent of my deduction powers i can't think at the moment because of lack of sleep... my apologies to people who have bought wades extruders and nozzles off me i have been really slack but i have just been animating onby mlagana - Reprappers
but thanks brnrd hopefully that's it then...by mlagana - General
oh really? i didn't use real maths to calibrate my axes, now over maybe a year of using techzone and makerbot stepper drivers i am finding out it is half stepping... they should have that smack bang on the webshop page it's important..by mlagana - General
actually i think the test shot script was moving 4 steps every frame not 5. But i think there is something wrong with every forth frame no matter the step size.by mlagana - General
