Kelly - if you are referring to the seller that I think you are (I gave you a link to all the videos), then I have something to add. I have purchased a kit and have received the first half. Second half is supposed to ship this week. At this time, I am reserving comment regarding the kit, because I have mixed feelings about it. I went out on a limb and risked the purchase, because in the end,by buzzard192 - Administration, Announcements, Policy

That's the same reason why I was looking to make an English unit system. From what I have been able to find, in the US metric parts are about twice the cost. I was able to price out all the metal parts of a Mendel for $60-$70.by buzzard192 - For Sale

I went through the trouble of spec'ing out all english parts. It cut the costs of the metal parts about in half. There are some issues related to the bearings. When you get down into the numbered sizes of bolts they are no longer nice fractional dimensions, so finding a bearing with the right ID is tricky. Since the OD of the bearings would be slightly different, there might be trouble withby buzzard192 - Mechanics
I have found that the difference is between and clicking from the reprap.org website takes you to the first. When you click Login, it takes you to the second.by buzzard192 - Administration, Announcements, Policy
I soldered up my v1.2 Motherboard with the ATX header. I plugged in the power supply, flipped the switch, and nothing happened. Long story short, it appears that 10K is too much resistance between ground and !PS_ON. If I jumper over R18 (10K), then the switch works and the power supply turns on. Did I do something wrong? Is my power supply "special"? Or have others experienced this as well?by buzzard192 - Controllers
24mm width film on a 33 meter roll for $4.20. That's almost 0.8 m^2 of kapton for less than 5 bucks... I think I beat your price ;-) $5.30/m^2 BTW - 22mm * 30 meters = 0.022 * 30 = 0.66 m^2 $8.08/m^2 for the roll you found - still not a bad deal.by buzzard192 - General
For belts within the USA: Axis Part # Price X/Y A 6T35M276100 17.02 Z A 6T35M198060 8.67 Sub-total: 25.69 When I priced english belts and timing pulleys, the total was $50+. Also, some amount of resolution is lost in this solution as well, as the smallest timing pulleys they have are 10 teeth. (5mm * 8 teeth = 1.57"/rev. vs. .2" * 10 teeth = 2"/rev.) www.sdp-si.com has sells metric timing belts. It is a little confusing navigating their site, until you notice the metric/inch options at the top left. I have spec'd out the part numbers needed - but I don't have the list right now. I will post it tomorrow morning. I have also thought about buying english belts and gears. sdp-si sells .2" pitch pulleys with a metric bore. I probably will goby buzzard192 - General Mendel Topics

Michael - I am not currently involved in any of those groups. I've heard of HacDC; however, I haven't heard of Make DC or DorkBotDC before. I don't mind waiting for the parts, just keep me posted as far as your progress. Also, how much would you want for the set? You can send via PM if you don't want to say in the open.
