seems like I read a lot of people have that problem, but not with a makerbot. Usually points to min/max....hope it's not a short.by Arvin - Oklahoma City RepRap User Group
Got it. Works on Ubuntu 9.10....Looks good. Want some beta observations? If yes, here's a couple. If no, just stop reading! Thanks for the browse button. It allowed me to load some gcode files. However when I unpaused it the new file was not drawn. When the pause button is pushed some visual acknowledgement of that fact needs to be shown. Maybe change "pause" to "start"? I had to restart the pby Arvin - RepRap Host
Runs on my Ubuntu 9.10 but there's no file to view in the zip file.by Arvin - RepRap Host
In the arduino software you have to select which chip you are using but it's invisible to the user other than that.by Arvin - Controllers
I had wine with sketchup7 installed till last week when I crashed the hard drive. Using Ubuntu 9.10. Will reinstall wine and give your program a try. Looks great! I'm just about ready to build a extruder...again. Have all three axis grinding along. Built a diy cnc.by Arvin - RepRap Host
seem to have the 168 and 328 in stock for $4.30 and $4.50. I'd buy the ATMEGA328P. It has twice the ram and twice the flash memory and is the "new" arduino for $0.20 more. seems to have them in stock too....$6.00 though!by Arvin - Controllers
The new arduino boards come with the ATMEGA328P which doubled the amount of memory available and is a direct replacement for the older 168P chip. You can upgrade an old board by purchasing a new chip. Adafruit has the chip with bootloader installed for $6.00 here:by Arvin - RepRap Host
Zach of makerbot fame has been buying some small parts from makerbot owners. Shipping doesn't seem to have hurt the process. Just an added expense.by Arvin - General
Hybrid mendel.....I have been following the wood mendel thread on the reprap forum. Here's one: The corner blocks look fairly easy in wood/plywood. The big pieces that support the x/z seem to be not makable using my tools. I'm on vacation the week of Christmas and plan to start on a wood mendel. When you start making parts I hope you would be interested in producing a few parts that I willby Arvin - Oklahoma City RepRap User Group
Hurry! We're all looking forward to the pictures.by Arvin - Oklahoma City RepRap User Group
Hey drummerboyx nice build.... My poor "old" eyes can't see enough detail in the small images you posted. Could you use them as links to bigger versions? Great job! Arvinby Arvin - Reprappers
Great! You should be able to recoup your investment for the cupcake quickly! When you are ready to make a set of mendel parts count me in for one. Edit: My apologies for asking for parts....I just counted them. There's 98 parts in a mendel!!! And that's not including the extruder! I should just buy a Makerbot and be done with it.by Arvin - Oklahoma City RepRap User Group
> that '.' is hard to work with in windows, Dead simple on linux! So it's written in VB? Leaves all of us using linux out. Sorry to hear that. Was looking forward to it.by Arvin - RepRap Host
Postee in the other thread.. I'd buy the plastruder from you. When?by Arvin - For Sale
I'd be interested in buying a plastruder like makerbot's. Since they have decided to take their time on making any available. Have you done the research you were going to do? What's the verdict? Someone besides makerbot has got to start making some of these! I'd buy one from you or them if they were available. email at arvin dot evans at gmail dot com Arvinby Arvin - For Sale
BingDai, is the link for Peter's code. He was going to make a location to post his code that would allow checking out but no word for a long time. Peter, are you there?by Arvin - RepRap Host
Reza...can you give us a link to your code in svn? The link to google code has no downloads available. I've tried my code, and while it worked, I'm not happy about it. I'm almost ready to use my repstrap. (No extruder and z axis is acting up) Would like to give your code a try. Arvinby Arvin - RepRap Host
Nice. Wish I had seen that before making what I have. His seems to have a better supported build platform than mine....maybe the next iteration!by Arvin - General
Oh. Don't worry about the parts. I've finally got my little cnc to move! Yes! No extruder or mill head on it and still playing with my own version of the software. Be months yet. It's a hobby after all!by Arvin - Oklahoma City RepRap User Group
Looks verrrry interisting! Keep up the good work! Have you been drawing the parts in a cad program? Which one and are they available?by Arvin - General Mendel Topics
I am also using the aluminum angle/skate bearings idea. Making one that looks a lot like http://buildyourcnc.com/davidkcnc.aspx I too am writing my own arduino firmware. Why? No good reason. I like the challenge and like writing code. Gives me a puzzle to play with. Have fun!by Arvin - General
I just tried "_BV(1);" in arduino0017 and recompiled and got no error so I guess it should work. You said you couldn't use it. Did you get an error message or did it just not work as expected? In the extended reference I see: * lowByte() * highByte() * bitRead() * bitWrite() * bitSet() * bitClear() * bit() bit() doesn't look like a #define. It looks like a function sby Arvin - RepRap Host
There's: but I get my hopes up and the thread dies. I don't know enough about EMC or MACH to step in. My diy cnc is almost ready for a head and some software so I'm interested in both of these threads.by Arvin - EMC2
Hey, post the picaxe code here. What kind of circuit are you using. I have almost finished my cheap small cnc and want to use a pinch wheel extruder on it with mach.by Arvin - EMC2
Which version of the arduino firmware are you using? I don't think it matters though since I remember seeing it in the first one too...that is, the arduino sends "ok" when it has finished a command. You need to read serial after sending a line and check for that response before sending the next line.by Arvin - RepRap Host
Since you have tested a single line from the arduino terminal and got it to work, I suspect you are overloading the serial receive of the arduino. while(true){ out.write("G1 X-10\n".getBytes()); out.write("G1 X10\n".getBytes()); } while(true) will be sending those two lines as fast as the serial connection will allow and the arduino is limited as to how much it can buffer till it overflows.by Arvin - RepRap Host
Don't be shy...just zip it up and attach it here! Have never seen any bad comments or somebody's code except in a C forum! Add an apology if you feel compelled to but go ahead and post it anyway.by Arvin - Administration, Announcements, Policy
I'm not too much of a java programmer but to get any code help you'll have to post all or parts of it!by Arvin - RepRap Host
"clean up the source" ... no need to clean it up. I like seeing all the iterations that people go through...that way they don't forget to release it too!by Arvin - Administration, Announcements, Policy
Nice 360 degree movies! How are you making those?by Arvin - Administration, Announcements, Policy
