The thermal barrier needs to be non-conductive and be good up to around 300 degrees Celsius. It isn't that hard to buy and machine the nozzle and thermal barrier yourself if you have a lathe. Other wise I would recommend if you can wait the 2 weeks for them to get the new ones instock or if you need them now. Ultimachine's nozzle is significantly cheaper, of a lower mass, and designed for the Mby tesla893 - Reprappers

We have decided our long term goal is to go to World Maker Faire with 3 mini Mendels and at least 1 Mendel. We are in central Nassau on Long Island so we haven't really participated in the NYC RUG. Is anything planned, because we might put in for an exhibit booth.by tesla893 - General
Some progress... # We are going to cut down the cabinet tracks because our Y axis does not need that much travel. As you can see our repstrap "Judy" is very much based off of the Mcwire design. All of our parts we obtained from Lowes (Hardware store), which allows us easy replacement. We are just about ready to start thinking about extruder designs since our 3 axes are framed out. We should probably have a few mini Mendels ready by then. We are currently finishing our repstrap. I could help too. Let me know what is needed.by tesla893 - New York City RepRap User Group
I am really interested in getting involved with this. Once I have something valuable to contribute I will post it up.by tesla893 - Kartik M. Gada Humanitarian Innovation Prize

So here we go. First off, everything you see is the result of around 3 months of consistent research and study on the topic of 3D printing. There is still much to learn within the topic and outside it. We understand this is a feasible project and have a general direction. We are three high school students. The primary motivation for this project is manufacturing parts for the school's science olyby tesla893 - Reprappers
Wow. I always thought it was an aesthetic design. This is so cool. I guess the logo was originated from this then.by tesla893 - General
That looks really good man. Me and a couple of friends are building a similiar design.by tesla893 - General
That was probably the wrong estimate. A package that size would take more than 12 days through customs. dinh Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > HI, > > We bought a full lasercut RepRap from > techzonestore. Field's and wood's metals Can go through a reprap extruder. They might be too weak for a usefull application though.by tesla893 - General
A reprap, or any abs extruder for that matter, should have good enough resolution for a suit. The main issue is the print area. A regular Mendel wouldn't be able to handle that, as said before.by tesla893 - General
I completely agree with Sebastien. Considering this site is free to use, ad-free and has a large membership, it would be best to build off of this one.by tesla893 - Tissue Engineering
Alright back to the drawing board then. My 5mm rods Ive been getting out of inkjet printers aren't going to be usable on x and y. I was watching one of Adrian's talks and he seemed to think milling with a flex shaft dremel was possible for pcb production.by tesla893 - General
I agree with Wade. Nophead has gotten great results. A huge percentage of print quality also comes from the resolution and accuracy of each axis.by tesla893 - General
Yeah... I just need to say how amazing those prints look! Nice job man.by tesla893 - Plastic RepRap Parts for Sale
That sounds pretty cool actually. The train ride to the NYC one might be worth it for me. I have always wanted to go to one of these, but they haven't been local enough.by tesla893 - General
