One of my other hobbies is animation and most 3D scanned models are of very little use for the following reasons. Never thought about that; I'm more keen on the sculpt->scan->print side of things, but for static figurines. For that I think I can get by with camera and laser-line scanning. Still, sounds utterly cool! I hereby dub the project Mister_Probey. (code name / working name) Whby SebastienBailard - 3D Scanners, Book Scanners, and Optics

Wenn Sie bereit sind nur Nutzer waren, sollte das Etikett an der Haustür einfach sagen: "Benutzer". Aber ihr seid Entwickler, so .... google translation of: No, it's because you keep doing development. If you were willing to just be users, the label on the front door should just say "users". I saw it go up in the wiki, Bodge It. The Print it - Stick it - Cut it approach is interesting. How far along is BasicMendel? http://reprap.org/wiki/BasicMendel Is it at hello world? Or has it pupped yet?by SebastienBailard - General New Machines Topics

Ah. (After re-reading what forum this is.) We've got a nice wiki page here: http://reprap.org/wiki/RUG/New_Zealand Do have a go at making it more lived-in and perfect.by SebastienBailard - New Zealand RepRap User Group
don't have the inclination at this stage to build from scratch No worries, it's not compulsory. Let me know if you need a RUG done up for your area.by SebastienBailard - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I've been wondering about that myself, nophead. A fair number of folk do up a WolfStrap: http://reprap.org/wiki/WolfStrap-English and then, from there, once they have that machine working, some of them do up a Mendel and so on. Others just keep the WolfStrap. I think part of this is sort of a cargo cult, Mendel a the holy grail approach. I also think this means, Mendel is just better than Wby SebastienBailard - Washington, Seattle RepRap User Group
Jim, That's a lovely machine. Would you like to stuff it into the wiki, including parts lists, cad files, etc? say: http://reprap.org/wiki/Grass_Roots_Engineering_RepStrap or http://reprap.org/wiki/Grass_Roots_T-Slot_Bot We've already got a number of documentation stubs going on here: http://reprap.org/wiki/T-Slot but no actual completed machines to wave at new folk: "Build one of theseby SebastienBailard - General New Machines Topics

- 14 years agoWelcome to the support forum for johnnyr's RAMPS electronics. http://reprap.org/wiki/RAMPS This forum is for support, for development, please join the reprap-dev mailing list: http://lists.reprap.org/mailman/listinfo/reprap-dev Since everyone with a RepRap is technically a RepRap developer, it should get fairly crowded in there. Yup. http://reprap.org/wiki/Huxley Folk like it, but we're fussy on whether or not it is good value compared to a full grown mendel.by SebastienBailard - General
1. How well fused is the thermoplastic parts made by this machine? Good enough to make a 3D printer from them. 2. How can i get a part made by a reprap machine sent to me so i can destroy it... opps i meant "test it"? a local reprap user group is the best way. http://reprap.org/wiki/What_Tooling_Do_You_Have ?by SebastienBailard - General
Thoughts? Start here Wire-feed welders are fairly common tools out there. One drawback with mounting them on a reprap made from thermoplastic is the waste heat might melt your mendel; you'd want to do up a repstrap out of steel or aluminum. One concern: what fabrication tolerances are we trying to hit? Much of this stuff would probably need a finishing pass with a milling head or hand helby SebastienBailard - General

I think 2 thread 3 posts all within 1 hour is a little excessive. 7 posts total, 2 of which I just deleted because someone flagged them as spam. Carlos, I understand that you are frustrated, but please try to keep it in one thread, and not 7 in days?by SebastienBailard - For Sale

Hey all, Just created a New RepSnapper Forum for all you RepSnapper-using devs. Tim Schmidt asked me to remind you that we should all probably be using the github version: http://github.com/timschmidt/repsnapper Seeing as it is actually maintained and up-to-date, it is probably the more official version, not that reprap really does official. Sounds good! Fiat Forum!by SebastienBailard - RepSnapper
Not a complaint at all, I'm well aware the people publishing these pages are probably not getting paid to do so, and the site is full of useful information. But I was wondering if the decision to move over to the google docs format was for any particular reason other than its too much of an effort to maintain the parts lister?? Hmmm .... frankly you should be building one of these: http://repraby SebastienBailard - General

Yes but I have given parts away before and nothing has come of them so you need to get the electronics and the motors before I let you have the parts.
