Is there way to change the modulation of the heating (bed or hot end) via config.g to reduce current consumption. I want to check if my problem is related maybe to a weak supply.by Fpex - Ormerod
It get stuck also with pronterface, i get the error printer disconnected, but actually the printer is still connected and all temps stay high as they should. It does not look like an SD problem, i start to feel that my duet is gone.by Fpex - Ormerod
a 20x20 shouyld be easy to find. got one made on specs for myself 30x30 from somebody on aliexpress suggested by DCby Fpex - Ormerod
I tried with pro9nterface, but is sends the gcode to the SD card for printing and then starts a print (and disconnect) S3D I have it .... but I have not profiles for the ormerod and never tried to print with it I am also trying to get a duet 0.6 .... swapping in a new board could also help.by Fpex - Ormerod
I will be trying more SD cards, is there a way to bypass the SD somehow to see if the error is there? On the mendel I can do it via pronterface, but this does not work on the duet.by Fpex - Ormerod
I have the same problem recently among all sort of issues i see with the ormerod, which is my least reliable printer to be fair. I would take a silicone heater if i were you.by Fpex - Ormerod
he file is fine. I have previewed on cura and simplify3D ndI also check if briefly with textedit(possible because it stops after few layers) directly from the SD. It happens with most files (there might be a dependency on file dimension, nut sure). I have not installed the panel due yet. I am readying one for my OB, but i would ty to attach it to it next time. Anyhow the web interface reports noby Fpex - Ormerod
The bed and hit end stay hot at the right temp. The web interface indicate as status idle and homed. Motors are locked. M122 (I did not know of this nice command) reports M122 Diagnostics Used output buffers: 4 of 16 (12 max) Platform Diagnostics: Memory usage: Program static ram used: 39856 Dynamic ram used: 41048 Recycled dynamic ram: 1016 Current stack ram used: 2984 Maximum stack ram usedby Fpex - Ormerod
Cables are fine. I inspected every singe one and every soldering. I recalibrate the bed (manual calibration on the ormerod is the worst), rechecked all wires and checked for possible squeezing wires. I try another print and we will see. DC42 with your firmware i get no error at all, just a stuck print.by Fpex - Ormerod
Or you can use mine using a blow fan for cooling down. Files are hereby Fpex - Ormerod
I do notice with the new firmware that the bed temp is pretty good, but the hot end one oscillates between 260 and 275 .... even if i set it at 245!! This is weird. And the prints when stop looks like they shifted, as if all of a sudden somebody bumped the head two cm along the X axis. UPDATE: it gets even weirder ... see this screen shot Also transfer via wifi of files started to fail. I amby Fpex - Ormerod
Changing the firmware did not solve it. If I print parts without a solid base, the printer gets stuck after few layers. It looks like it decides to make a sudden movement to a point, not necessarily where it is supposed to print, and it stops there forever, I really have no idea what the issue is. As example this GCODE prints and this never But until recently they both printedby Fpex - Ormerod
Well, my (ordered) 30x30 plate is 400w, and later i might even upgrade to a 30x40 that will be even higher. In these circumstances (and even not considering this printer mounts a kraken) i prefer to split supplies to avoid load issues.by Fpex - Ormerod
Thanks. I am going to give it a try and see what happens :-)by Fpex - Ormerod
I prefer to know what i get ;-) I just ordered a 300x300 24v 400W bed and a good SSR that can receive directly the 12v from the duet. I now need to find a proper supply. Then I can put this printer aside ands try to fix my ormerod2 Thanks guys.by Fpex - Ormerod
I have installed the latest dc42 firmware and updated the sd card. I also changed the config with value from the older firmware (reduced acceleration/min speed and z calibration) Anything else i should pay attention to? I just want to avoid that now i see problem unrelated to my original issue but related to my ignorance about this firmware Thanks a lot guys for the helpby Fpex - Ormerod
Thanks, I will ask them for a 300w version with a ntc 100k. Thanks. With adhesive is best. You better ask them what they put as thermistor or I cannot see how to set up the firmware for it.by Fpex - Ormerod
I am using the stock one 1.09, it served me fine. I will update to yours and try again. I need to flash it on the other duet anyhow for the OB I am buildingby Fpex - Ormerod
Good point. Having 220 moving around is not a good idea. Where did you get the 24v bed?by Fpex - Ormerod
I was wrong, the one file that printed was an exception. was file without traveling. Anything else i try to print a bit bigger or worthy holes it blocks and gives again file error. No matter what temps i use and what amps i consume I am really lost. I can try too move to DC42 firmware, but i doubt the fw is the culprit How can i check the sd card socket? UPDATE: I stripped the code from the cby Fpex - Ormerod
No. I have been doing few tests today and I believe that the new cooling fan for the head and the new PCB bed needs more current than the two broken ones. So my assumption that leasing the filament cooling blower disconnected resulted in the same condition as with the original bed and head fan, was wrong. I think i can solve it if I educe the max pvm.by Fpex - Ormerod
I have having the same problem. But heated and hot end stay hot. The print stops after few layers. Electronics stay cool (except the small board), i get no error message. I checked al wiring and it is ok. I am completely in the darkby Fpex - Ormerod
I know ... 12v means waiting forever. Somebody from another group was suggesting today to use a Keenovo silicon heated from 220v with external PID. Sounds like a good idea, even if it will be annoying to remember to turn on and off the bed, but for that size it maybe be best. BTW this is for a duet 0.8.4 OB printer I am building. Not for an ormerod, i hope it is ok to discuss it here still.by Fpex - Ormerod
I really need help here, guys. I have this ormerod2 on a duet 0.6 that worked ok till my last changes. I have changed the head to add a second fan for cooling PLA and not ABS. The fan is not connected. So, nothing should be different here. All wires have been checked and all is fine. But the printer keeps stopping after few layers. The heated bed and head are still on, no error is reported. Theby Fpex - Ormerod
Thanks dc. I am going to drive the bed with a. Led supply tuned up to 14v to a 12v kapton heater. last night I run into issues of realising 30x30 24v heater are not easily availabke in Europe. I did not think of the noise actually ... Something to consider! Thanks.by Fpex - Ormerod
I though it was pwl, ouch. All these years of having the wrong assumption.by Fpex - Ormerod
I am starting to think that it is the runaway protection that is making a mess because i have longer wires then normal on an ormerod. Could that be the case? How can i get the log out of the duet to understand what is going on? Connecting pronterface while writing like the other repraps?by Fpex - Ormerod
