Amazing workmanship I love the Hexagonal pattern, Dunno what it is about that pattern but there is something deeply satisfying about it. Another possible use for these builds would be to get a semi transparent high temp resin and lay down a thin film of it across the build plate with the right releasing spray you could have a removable resin cast build plate. The Vacuum would pull it onto theby Rlewisrlou666 - General
I am using 20x20 Aluminium Extrusion so I'll be looking for 20mm angle brackets. I thought they were furniture blocks or modesty blocks but I obviously couldn't find them in Aluminium because I was searching for the wrong thing. Thank you again for all your help and support guys, I don't use forums much as past experience hasn't been good but this one looks like a great community of awesome peoby Rlewisrlou666 - General
@chris33, @PDBeal - You guys are life savers massive thanks.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
Hi Guys and Girls, I've been looking to buy some stronger brackets for my build and stumbled on these. The only problem is they seem to only be sold in China, Does anyone know the correct name for them or a place that sells them in the UK? Many Thanks Ryan.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
In the U.K e3D use this stuff.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
I think this is what you need.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
Check out this Youtube Channel He's done loads of experiments with Pellet Extrusion and I think what you are trying to do would be similar.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
If you don't mind waiting the cheapest place is eBay most of the Chinese stores delivery to the U.K for free its just a gamble how long they will take to get to you.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
Thanks for the info.by Rlewisrlou666 - RAMPS Electronics
Hi Guys and Girls, Just wondering if there are any TFT monitors that have built in Processors that can be used with a RAMPS setup and if so has anyone designed a GUI for such a device? Thanks Ryan.by Rlewisrlou666 - RAMPS Electronics
You have more experience than most. lol build the printer you want so you will be happy in the end and good luck. If you want the voxel ox I'm sure there is a kit and a build guide out there somewhere.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
Why would it be a disaster? What is the difference between buying a kit and buying the parts to make your own? Nothing. All the information is the same its just the parts that are different maybe this is the reason there hasn't been many innovations in the actual frame designs since the early days. Because every time someone wants to build something different they get sh*t on and told "It'll bby Rlewisrlou666 - General
Why buy a kit just get a parts list and build a DIY you can build it the size you want and you can cheap out on some things and use that money to buy better other parts.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
How about a removable sponge like you have on Soldering stations?by Rlewisrlou666 - General
@Dancook - Check this out I think it is similar but uses different sensors.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
Oh it'll work it just depends on how safe it is when it's working.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
I've just had an idea I'll mock up a model and post it later. Y You can tell me if it would work or not or if it's already been done. Lolby Rlewisrlou666 - General
Nice work DD that's coming along nicely.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
Have you looked into any forced pressure nozzle systems? Think injection moulding but scaled down to 3D printer head size.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
Do you have any design files for the nozzles or any dimensions you're hoping to use for the actual nozzle?by Rlewisrlou666 - General
If it sends a signal to the LCD couldn't you capture that signal and use it to pause the print?by Rlewisrlou666 - General
@Dragonfire - Thanks for the help buddy. I'm only looking for the Filament monitor board from the extruder as Digital Dentist said. @the_digital_dentist - Is this the right board? Loads of spares on hereby Rlewisrlou666 - General
Ok I meant PLA not sure about the others. QuoteRlewisrlou666 Do not use concrete it will eat any plastic you use.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
Something in the chemical reaction of cement curing just makes plastic fall apart. Also most readily available concrete/cement mixtures contain lye.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
Have a read of this.by Rlewisrlou666 - Printing
Goodluck Buddy hope it makes it.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
@RepRot - Thanks for sharing having some actual code will be very helpful. @Lykle - My thinking behind having it close to the filament roll is that the motor drives from there and I didn't want to add drag at or near the hotend. I suppose if it jams at the hotend and carries on feeding I won't know till all the fillament has run out and I have to rewind it on the spool. Argh! So many choices.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
@Lykle - Nice work on the diamond Extruder I can't seem to find any decent schematics for the complete extruder assembly. At the moment its adding a little bit of this and a little bit of that and I'm planning on printing these one day I've got a few ideas I want to use them for. Mostly decoration purposes as they look cool as but also to study the forms and try to design something a bit diffeby Rlewisrlou666 - General
I''m thinking of having Bowden extruders so I might add the Monitor near the Bowden drive gear to reduce the extra friction further down the line.by Rlewisrlou666 - General
