Well I was able to figure it out, kinda. It turned out that the Mega board was the problem. Once I swapped out the arduino clone, it started functioning correctly. Thanks for all the views. Is there a way to close this post? Scotby Progr3ss - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Hi all, I think I am missing something simple here, I hope someone can help. I have put together a Bear Prusa clone, kinda. Anyway, I printed some parts and assembled it mostly like a Bear. It is using Ramps 1.4 and Drv8825 drivers. My issue is that the Y motor has some clunkiness sometimes, then the printer errors and has to reset. If I home the printer, sometimes it stops fine, then starts tby Progr3ss - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Hi all, I am looking for one of the due shield type controllers. I have only been able to find the RADDS board from UK, but it is nearly $200 with shipping to the US. I am hoping that someone in North America has one sitting around and is willing to sell it. Thanks Scotby Progr3ss - Wanted
I don't know how much I can help, seems like the best answer is to go through the manual again and see if any of the pieces are duplicates or extras, or if you missed them. A look at the manual shows that pieces bottom row second from left are used to hold the bearings to the sled. There are 4 of them. The rod at the top looks like it could be any of the rods. They are in pairs, two for x, twby Progr3ss - General
Thank you for replying to me. RADDS appears to have most of its stuff open source here RADDS. I acknowledge that I may be wrong. Thanks for the tip about the RAMPS-FD, although I cannot find any of them for sale. I saw the Re-Arm, but alas I don't think it is sold anymore. Seems interesting too, but didn't seem to be open source. This last is the good part. "But there is no point in this typby Progr3ss - Controllers
Hi all, It is quiet here. Lots of posts with many views but little to no replies. I don't know if its the way the posts are, or just the community, but I would like to change that. I am looking to move to 32 bit. It does not seems that there are any of the RAMPS style shields available anymore. Seems I missed my chance. I am looking to build a corexy. I do not need ethernet or wifi. I think itby Progr3ss - Controllers
Hi all, I built a prusa i3 some 10 years ago. It started life with an hotend made with a air hose end with teflon insert and wire wrapped around it. It would print for a week and then I would have to wrap another one. I upgraded to an e3d style (j head?) and printed for a while with a Greg Wade extruder, with a clip to hold the thing together. Not great, it wiggled and jammed often. So when I dby Progr3ss - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi all, I have been looking at the EVA design standard that comes from the Ratrig. It has a potential to make it easier for one to use ideas from different platforms and make changing things easier. I have not been able to really get through all of it, but I am curious about what other standards are used in the repraps? Is there, for example, in the prusa mendel variants a way to swap x-carriaby Progr3ss - General
Hello all, I am new here and wanted to introduce myself and ask some questions. My name is Scot and I built a wood frame Prusa about 10 years ago. I struggled to find metric parts( I live in USA ), and did not really have the money needed to do a good job. I did succeed in making a printer and even printed another one for a Linux User Group. I became disappointed with print quality and I strugby Progr3ss - General
