CAD/CAM (Computer-aided design/Computer-aided manufacturing refers to the use of computers for design, creation, modification, analysis, and development of a model.

What is CAD/CAM used for?

CAD/CAM is used to design products and program manufacturing processes.

How is CAD/CAM used

CAD/CAM software is installed in computers where the Engineers use it to design detailed engineering models of 2D and 3D objects. Designers can design various layouts and can take the output in electronic form.

Types of CAD/CAM

CAD/CAM is generally done in two forms:

  • 2-D
  • 3-D

CAD/CAM Software

CAD/CAM software enables Engineers, Architects, and Designers to design and inspect projects using computers.
