From the X-carriage-struder to a whole printer, it's the next big project I started to dream of, some months ago, because I want to have a folding RepRap for travels/exhibition/conference that only need to be plugged to print (even if the Huxley is already not bad for that).

  • Foldable (first inspiration came from a folding ladder that my father have)
  • Few threaded rods (I first thought about aluminium extrusion, but finally I'll assemble printed parts to make the frame, which is also good for replication/changes/scaling)
  • Easily scalable
  • Sells Mendel style Z-axis (one motor as I like to be able to manually tweak the Z)

To Do :

  • design printed parts for a 200x200x200mm print volume (or maybe for a big 300x300x200 and a small 50x50x50 bot)
  • add an enclosure (required for machines used in education context)

  • First sketches
