Component Sourcing
Design Goals
- Simple part sourcing. The number of different suppliers needed to obtain all of the Lawson parts is minimized. Users can obtain 95% of the components from as few as two suppliers.
- Printable parts also have purchasable counterparts. Unlike most designs which have a number of components that 'must be 3D printed, all of Lawson's components can be purchased, and many can also be 3D printed. This makes the design accessible users without access to 3D printers, or who prefer to use metal components instead of plastic ones.
