Component Sourcing
Design Goals
- Simple part sourcing. The number of different suppliers needed to obtain all of the Lawson parts is minimized. Users can obtain 95% of the components from as few as two suppliers.
- Printable parts also have purchasable counterparts. The Lawson printer, unlike most printer designs, has no components which must' be 3D printed, althought many of the parts can be 3D printed. This design is accessible to users without access to 3D printers, or who prefer to use metal components instead of plastic ones.
