According to dudes on the RepRap IRC, sketchup is pretty handy for reprap design once you install:

http://sketchuptips.blogspot.com/2010/03/sketchup-stl-importer-redo.html <-- This is a plugin for sketuck to import STL files.
http://www.cad-addict.com/2009/07/sketchup-plugins-delete-coplanar-edges.html <-- combines coplanar faces. Maybe only has to do with file size.

This is a work in progress.

Used the first plugin in the list to successfully export STL files. The showed up weird in repsnapper, but it was very manageable.

I am using sketchup 8 which man plugins are incompatible with. they are in .rb files, I need them to be in .rbz.
