I would format this as an equation, but I'm getting this error: "Failed to parse (PNG conversion failed; check for correct installation of latex, dvips, gs, and convert): \frac{Expected_{stepspermm}}{Actual_{stepspermm}} = \frac{Expected_{distanceTraveled}}{Actual_{distanceTravel}}"

There are other pages with equations that works fine, but if I change anything from the exact equation they have, it no longer displays. Wikipedia says this: "To have math rendered in a particular MediaWiki installation, one has to set $wgUseTeX = true; in LocalSettings.php." -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Displaying_a_formula

Here's the equation I'm trying to get to display:

<math>V_{max} = k(T_{HotEnd}-T_{softening})</math>

Sorry for the trouble. --Macon 23:08, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I saw the same problem (and mentioned it at RepRapWiki:Wiki Administration). It appears that there was some temporary glitch, but apparently someone saw your note and fixed it. TeX seems to be working today. Thank you, Macon. I left both versions of the formula in this article -- the "pretty TeX" version that seems to work today, and the "simple HTML" version that works even during TeX glitches. --DavidCary (talk) 10:57, 3 March 2014 (PST)
