Should we be tinning the wires going into screw terminal blocks?

It's been my experience that this leads to failure or intermittent connection faults. A better way would be bare stripped wires twice the length, twisted and folded over to provide an increased contact area. Or the best way would be to use a Ferrule eg http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/searchBrowseAction.html?method=getProduct&R=3117915. These are crimped on and provide a good long lasting trouble free connection in this situation. You can often crimp these with needle nose pliers and not the expensive tool.

Any Thoughts?
