This is a duplicate of Firmware_installation. 1 of them should be redirected and a link posted here to Generation 3 Firmware so people can find help on this topic where they expect it to be. --TheOtherRob 17:43, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

The Massively Forked Firmware

I have stumbled across a problem in getting my makerbot and soon my mendel online: the firmware, there are just to many forks to make any sense any more. Can anyone shine some light on the reasons behind each one and what is good/bad/outdated?

Source Control

"Stable" Releases

There are 3 to many versions of the firmware for me to go through the source and try and find one that compiles/works for me/has more features I need. What if I have firmware patches (which I was working on until this got too confusing)? which firmware should I build my extensions on top of?

This is a major problem. --TheOtherRob 21:57, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
