Could this be merged with Prusa Mendel by providing the options for metric and imperial under the Bill of Materials? I'm working on documenting Prusa right now and I'm not a big fan of having to do the extra effort to keep the 2 pages in synch because we've forked this. --TheOtherRob 16:10, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Because the SAE version currently assumes only 2 size fasteners (#6 and m3) and it only uses 608 bearings, I think it's worth having a branch. But There will be a LOT of commonality between the 2. People are easy to confuse, and if you start giving instructions with a lot of cheviots, you get nasty emails :--Spacexula 22:32, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
What size is a no. 6 SAE screw? I want to print an SAE set but the holes sizes in the stock metric config are way too big for my machines so I can't trust the SAE config.--Nophead 16:26, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Is there a page with the SAE conversion for the Wade's Extruder? This list use SAE parts for the everything but the extruder, but metric for the extruder? http://shop.threadshop.us/Hardware-Kit-Vitamins-for-SAE-Prusa-Mendel-Metric-Wades-1.htm It would be nice if it were all SAE.

One RepRapper suggested
- 1/4" washers 90126A029 1 (Yes, 1/4" washers fit over a 5/16 rod, and the 5/16 washers are too big for some areas of mendel.)
Is this alluding to the "Binding issues with Z leadscrew/washers" problem, or is there some other problem with 5/16" washers?
Another RepRapper changed that to
- 5/16" washers 90126A030 1 ( 1/4" washers need drilling out to fit over the rods )
Is this alluding to the problem mentioned at SAE Mendel -- ( "I had to mount them in my drill press and file down the threads by a hair" ) -- or is there some other problem with 1/4" washers?

In my experience, the 5/16" washers are too large in multiple places - they don't sit flat in the concave parts of the vertexes and they rub on the outer races of the skate bearings. The 1/4" washers that I got fit great over the 5/16" inch rod. Maybe the RepRapper who changed it a second time bought higher-tolerance washers than I did.
