I wish you success with Enemy Delta Robot -- it looks very promising.

There has already been some research on lightweight extruders in category:Bowden Extruders and non-Cartesian positioning in category:delta. I hope that will save you a lot of time getting your first prototype operational, compared to re-inventing everything from scratch and trying to get them all working simultaneously.
