Bio

Hi, I'm Sylvain, administrator of the LOGre (Laboratoire Ouvert Grenoblois / Grenoble Open Lab), a hackerspace in Grenoble, in south-east France.

I'm also an electronics engineer with a PhD in microelectronics, specialized in digital systems and power management.

Machines

From september 2010 to april 2011, we had access to a Makerbot Cupcake in a museum [1]. We presented the machine to tens of visitors every Sunday evenings. At least two-thirds of the visitors that saw the machine running were very interested.

To explain what a 3D printer can be used for, we made a little photonovel: "A fabber story"

Future

I'll build a Reprap Mendel this summer, probably using the Makergear extruder I already have.

We're planning to build a junior-fablab in Gronble in the following months, using DIY 3D printers, DIY laser cutter (we've got a partially finished one) and DIY 2.5D mill (work in progress).
