Is there somewhere a 3d model of a complete reprap that I can use?
No, I'm not going to print a complete reprap in one run. smiling smiley Its for rendering a visualisation.

I am not sure if there is one...

If you download the CartesianBot1.0.6.zip from Sourceforge then it contains a STEP file with a complete assembled Darwin minus the extruder.

The extruder was modelled in ArtOfIllusion.

Thanks, can anyone convert this file to OBJ? Spend a few hours last night searching for a converter for mac but no results. Rhino should be able but the OSX beta didn't accept the .stp.
Yhanks in advance,

Pull it into Art of Illusion and then export it in OBJ format. Should be no problem.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

nophead, is that file also available through the SVN? And if so, where can I find it?

I can try to create a obj file from it, but I need to find the STP file first (I can try downloading the cartesian bot zip but I have bandwith problems (limited to 4 gig a month).

EDIT: I tried opening the STL file, and it looked like the whole thing just had been exploded... Opened in Rhino.

I don't think so I got it from the zip. The zip is only 20MB so no problem if you have 4GB per month. Less than 1/5 of your daily allowance.

See my other post for EDIT, and its 4 gig a month, not 4 gig a day winking smiley

4GB per day is 4000/31 = 129MB per day which is more than five time bigger than the file.

I opened it in CoCreate but it wasn't an exploded view, it was assembled.

What's the problem? It's pretty standard in the US to get 750 GB web space and 7500 GB monthly bandwidth.

This is the crowd that I use...

They're nothing special, mind. Lots of hosting firms offer similar plans.

Miscommunication Forrest. Its a download limit on the internet connection from his ISP, not a hosting company. Belgium is well known for its expensive and limited internet access compared to the rest of western europe.

ok, managed to get it. Dusted off my virtual windows machine. Installed Rhino demo and exported to OBJ.
