MakerBot Plastruder problem
January 21, 2010 05:53PM
Hello everybody!
I just received my makerbot plastruder. The problem is that when I press extrude on the host software the motor doesn't move and it makes a high pitched sound. But when I press the reset button on the Arduino, it spins fine.

Someone Help!

Thanks,
drummerboyx

Sounds like you are running the reprap host software that drives a stepper motor. The RepRap s/w no longer supports a DC motor although I think a couple of people have hacked it. You might be better using the Makerbot firmware and Replicator-G

I would use replicator-g but I can't figure out how to make it work with the arduino. Do you know?

Better place to get answers for Makerbot related questions is the Makerbot Google group
