Layer shifting

Hi Guys,

I'm printing with a shapercube. Sometimes, only when I do not print the calibration square, my layers shift. After two, three of four layers, it moves a few centimeters to a random side. I use SFACT to create G-code and pronterface as host software.

Does anyone experienced any of this?

* Belts too tight, or too loose.
* X and Y movement is not easy/smooth
* Print head hangs on a piece of plastic
* Steps lost because you are trying to move too fast

It shifts echt time at the same moment when printing a single object multiple times...

to expand on the above

-Check your current setting (potentiometer)on the stepper drive that's skipping. Your motors will only put out maximum torque if you feed them the current they need.

-Check your smooth rods for damage. You could have a "nick" on the rod that's catching every time you hit the same point if your using pla bearings. You could repair,replace or index the damaged rod.

-If the belt was overtightened and the machine was used for a while to print parts then this problem started it might be pointing to the metal reinforcement in belt might be damaged.
