Should be a little easier, but heatsink compound does tend to solidify over time (As someone who has removed too many old pc heatsinks to count...).
And, our resistors are MUCH hotter than the temps most heatsink compound will normally see. I don't know how that will affect it in the long run.
That said, I'm using arctic silver on my resistor and thermistors, it seems great, my temp readings are perfect when compared to my multimeter. That said, I'm new to this so only time will tell how heatsink compound holds up in the long run.
