Machining the J head v6
March 07, 2013 11:53PM
Hi.
Im new to the FMD scene but been in cnczone for a while, built a couple of cnc machines, one of which still with me, so I want to fit it with a hotend, J head v6 is the choice.

I have been modeling the extrusion head in Solidworks as by instructions laid out in the wiki, my question is:
Does the lenght of the 0.25/0.3/0.5 extrusion hole of importance? Min/max recommended?

If I understood correctly from the Jhn_nozzle_v4.scad model the 3.5mm hole has a 0.855" depth, making the 0.25mm hole 0.1066" in lenght (following the suggestion of 1" stock material in lenght)

The drill bit leaves some rough edges, should a carefull polishing be done? Perhaps with a cotton string drenched in very fine polishing compound?
