PLA not extruding.

Hey guys,

I've finish setting up my printer, everything calibrated, then I try and extrude some PLA and it doesn't come out.

My setup is:

Prusa Mendel i2,
RAMPS 1.4 Electronics
Budaschnozzle w/ fan mounted on x-carriage

PLA temperature I have been trying is 185° C.

I have tried manually extruding some PLA and that doesn't work either.
The only thing that does work for PLA and ABS is extruding at 225° C.

I could just use PLA and ABS at that temperature, but I thought PLA was supposed to work at 185° C

What is reported by your software and the actual temperature in the melt zone of the hot end are not necessarily the same thing. My system extrudes PLA at a reported 220C, I go up to 245C for ABS. The figures you see are dependent on a number of factors not least being the accuracy of the thermistor, where it is placed and how it has been fixed.
