Prusa Mendel 2 vs Printrbot Jr/Plus

Hello everyone! So I've finally decided to build my own 3D printer. After doing some research, I believe I have my options narrowed down to the Prusa Mendel 2 and the Printrbot Jr/Plus assembly kits. I was curious if any of you had input that would help me make a decision. On that note, if there are 3D printers that I didn't list that you'd like to recommend, please let me know. Thank you all in advance for your help!

EDIT: I just found the Prusa i3, which appears to be a solid contender at this general price range that I've got going here ($600 - $800).

Prusa i3 with aluminium single plate frame. A really great printer. Unlike wooden frame I can lift my i3 without need for recalibration of bed. Already printed more than 40 hours without a single problem.

Good point! I saw the plates on the Arduino store...pretty sleek looking. Any other suggestions?
